Just don't put the primary home protection weapons in there.  Can you imagine trying to find and attach them magnets in a hast in the middle of the night...........shotgun on top of the wardrobe ready to rock and roll and .357 in both night stand tables.  Grab a revolver while still in bed and the shotgun as I get up if I need to look down the hallway.

I pity the fool

Those gun (and valuables) hiders are a good idea, as a part of an overall security strategy.  I might be concerned, as they become more popular, then they lose their secrecy as more know of them.  Great idea for the first guy, though.  I would suggest a strategy that hides your weapons in innovative places, don't tell anyone about them other than your spouse, and of course that is not a plan if children visit or live there. (Of course, if kids are going to visit, use the safe before they arrive.)  Keep a few in those places, and the remainder of your weapons locked in a safe.  Not gonna suggest such innovative places  here.  I'll just say, think of good ways to use this:  http://www.harborfreight.com/retrieving-magnet-250-lb-pull-36905.html  Wrap it in cloth to protect the finish on your weapon.

When I grew up, it wasn't like today with the nanny state.  Guns were on display in racks, and kids were taught respect from the beginning, for weapons and don't touch dad's stuff. Also, we went hunting, there wasn't the "attractive nuisance" factor of guns.  All were proficient shooters and held to the rules of firearm safety. Nowadays - what a shitty turn of events.

Sports man's guide had a clock with a false back. Kinda a clock with a GLOCK.
The clock is in the wall in the bedroom, unfortunatly the GLOCK is in the safe.
