I totaled my Valk I/S and not sure if Im going to ride . Right now Im healing physically and mentally
Just soliciting comments on 2013 F6B
I had convereted my I/S to a supervalk and this seems to be what Honda did with the F6b

I think I can live without the reverse gear and some other creature comforts like trunk for improved handling and lighter weight

Only concern is that there seem to be a few used ones on line with low milage.

REviews on this bike were excellent

I rode a friends very smooth power... The first year(s) had major paint issues with the paint coming off and severe swirls.

I have a '13' F6B deluxe, black, no paint issues for me. Bike is AWSOME! Will run circles around a Valk. Now I loved my Valks, all 3 of them but they don't run in the same class as the F6B. Just sold my last Valk a week or so ago. The F6B is the way to go, for me anyway. I put a custom seat on it, taller dark windscreen, an extension for the passenger backrest (raised it up, stock is too low) put some highway pegs on her and that's it. Love that bike! cooldude

I'm digging my 13 F6B. Bought it new last July. As far as the paint issues, it's not really a defect, as much as a result of Honda changing their paint procedure to an "environmentally" friendly paints. It's only with certain colors it seems. The pearl colors seem to have the more standard clear coat. Mine is a red one that some have had issues with. I don't really notice a big issue with it. However, I have made the common procedural point to coat it with some liquid glass from time to time and it seems to do fine. I only wipe it down with micro fiber cloths.   cooldude

I do still have my Valk, and I do ride it. It doesn't get as much time as my F6B though. coolsmiley Loving it.

Few used ones with low mileage is a good sign.  We all know the F6B sold well so that means people are happy with them and don't want to sell them

Just play the waiting game.  It's summer.  People are riding not selling.

You'll love the 1800 engine.  If you thought the 1500 engine was nice, you'll love what it's become.

Andy,
I have a red F6B deluxe and since we are just about neighbors why don't you stop by and
take a look at mine. I liquid glassed mine and have no issues at all with the paint.
As you might remember I had 2 Valks at the same time but with knee problems the F6B suits me better. Sold both Valks last year and really enjoyed the F6B. I have added a F4Custom shield and Rivco Aero pegs. I do miss the sound of the Valk though compared to this bike.

PM me for my address and cell info if you don't have it anymore.

I don't have much to add.
I loved my Valkyrie's but the F6B is just better and my paint is good it's black and it shows small scratches but with the right wax it disappears. Just go ride one.
I also just sold my last Valk 2 weeks ago. I do miss it but then I just go for a ride on the F6b.

go test ride them when feeling up to it, am pretty sure you will like the slick smoothness of the VERY quick 6 banger, comfort is nice as well I prefer it over the goldwings being to upright and more crowded vs. the more layed back F6B ergos.

The local Honda dealer let me test ride the 2015 matte gray deluxe and cruise is nice and self cancelling turn signals and am sure heated grips and center stand and passenger backrest although could be higher for sure.  Still needs a taller windshield though and hwy. pegs.

Give it a few more years if you can wait that long, there will be more used ones to pick from, hoping for a 2015 when the deluxe package now has cruise control which should have been included all along.

Wow
Thanks for all the great feedback

In thruth Im fairly sure Im going to go foward but the wife is not happy after my accident

Im waitng to heal a bit more and see how I feel

Sadly I just heard at work that there may be some significant changes that could impact my employment so Im a bit concerned about buying a bike right now .I will probably wait till the end of July or mid August to buy

With all the great reviews on the F6b Im sure this is the bike I will go with if I do. I turned my VALk into a Super valk before the crash and liked the way it handled much better. From what I ve read the F6b will ride even better with some of the Wing Engineering

I would like to find a Deluxe 2013 .

Any other new model issues that anyone is aware of other than the paint? It always scares me to buy the new model but the F6b is mostly a time tested Goldwing with some parts removed so I think it will be fine
Thanks again for all your input

I'm only 5'10" 30" inseam and had no issues, but the seat is pretty firm and am sure I weigh a tad more squatting it down some.  Maybe the rear suspension was set too firm for you and put on a softer suspension setting so when sit on,  the rear shocks squat a tad more?

Fudgie, you're supposed to sit on the part of the seat that's closest to the handlebars  2funny
Seriously, anytime we meet, you're more than welcome to sit on my F6B. I have no trouble reaching the ground and I'm not any(much)taller than you.

I hate to say it but I believe the curse may have worked with your recent accident.

As soon as I test rode an F6B, I knew it was time to change over from my Valkyrie to a new bike.  I really liked the F6B.  I ended up going with a Gold Wing because of how much I use the trunk.  You cannot fit a full face helmet (mine size XL) in the side bags of either the F6B or the Gold Wing.  I also wanted cruise control (now added to the 2015 F6B).  I have a Givi trunk that I could have mounted on the F6B, but it would not look as nice as the Gold Wng.

The F6B accelerates faster and is of course lighter than the Wing.  If you do not need the trunk, definitely go with the F6B.  Your Valkyrie will feel "old" in comparison.

You can always add a trunk and take it off when not in use.

I have to ask, why do people cover their tag in a picture?

Do you cover it while you ride or park it?  What do you think happens if someone on the Internet sees your tag as opposed to the countless number of people that see it in real life?

I am injoying mine. It reminds me of my 99 tourer. If you have to
have a teunk you can add one. The one thing I added was cruise conteol
and it has paided off for me when I ride a long piece of slab.
I got a great price on a 2013model that the dealer took out of the crate for me
last July.   14500 out the door.

I just sat on one at the dealer . Didnt want me to test ride .
Im looking to get used or leftover 2013 so test rides are limited unless I tell a new bike dealer Im interested in a 2015 and test that. My better option is to rent one but I can only find one in Belleville NJ and they have a full blown Wing

Does anyone know of another place I may be able to rent one for a day to try for a long ride

My dealer is too far away from you, (Lake City Honda in Warsaw IN) but I never understood a dealer that won't let people ride a bike they are interested in. Try that with cars and see how many cars you sell. Seems stupid to me.  uglystupid2

Now I don't think many dealers are let you ride it for a full day but if you ride one for 30 minutes your going to know if you like it. Well, at least I did!

I was allowed a test ride at the fourth dealer I asked. It was the furthest away,
but I liked it (a Valkyrie) and bought the one I test rode...
