It's fitting in with all the slack jawed, drooling fools who are glued to their reality/entertainment TV crap.

I'm sure its fun to posture and denigrate others and their seemingly incomprehensible choices from afar, but its also mean spirited.

I have a close friend who's been a motorcycling buddy for quite a few years. He has a family, works in construction, builds choppers and can fix anything with an engine. He has recently told me that he is transitioning into being a woman. Takes the hormones, has done the psych testing, and of course is dressing as a woman.

I don't understand it, and probably never will, but the guy is a good friend. I'm not about to cut him off just because I don't understand why he is following this path. To do so would be cruel and unfair.

All I know is that people should be free to do whatever makes them happy (provided it doesn't hurt others). To stand in the way of that right because we don't understand, does not make the world a better place.

I'm sure you are thinking "but he is hurting others. What about his family?". This is true there is undoubtedly some damage there, but they have accepted his choice and time will do its thing. People get divorced everyday, doing all sorts of damage to their families yet we don't generally oppose the idea of divorce, we accept it. So at its core why is this any different?

At the end of the day, I will support my friend through thick and thin. I'm sure he will need it as he travels his difficult path.

Your friend has every right to do whatever he wants to himself.  I think he needs his head examined, but that's JMHO.

However, I really don't care what your friend does...AND..I really don't care what Bruce Jenner does either.  The point is.....STOP SHOVING IT DOWN MY THROAT.

I don't want to see it on virtually every news channel non-stop, day in and day out.  I don't want my grandchild exposed to it....and in today's world, it's on the front cover of magazines at the grocery store and has had non-stop news exposure for several days now on virtually every news (and non-news) outlet there is.

It's NOT normal.  It IS abnormal behavior and it's getting virtually impossible to protect your children and grandchildren from such abnormal behavior.

What he does to himself is non of my business....but when it's plastered all over the entire world and as something to celebrate....then that's a line that's been crossed.
I don't think anyone is shoving anything (pun intended  Grin ) down your throat. I don't hear about it till I read the VRCC board.  coolsmiley

Public acceptance of this is part of the reason Bruce is doing this. It is part of the agenda to completely take off the stigma of transgender and homosexuals. I don't believe in discrimination of these individuals but with them being held up as role models no one can doubt its for acceptance. So it is being shoved upon us and desensitizing us. If you want to live a successful life there are no statistics that say this is the way to do it. Consider this why is "it" such a hero, why is some media praising it? Why did it get a award over Lauren Hill for ESPY courage award? He had nothing to risk, he stole clothes from all the girls in his household for years and now to get his face on the news and fulfill a desire of being transgender or a woman has won a award. He did not have a successful marriage, how much else don't we really know about what was going on? I can imaging if anyone here stole their daughters clothes or panties and wore them what they would think about themselves. Yet we gave it a award how sad.

But now some are crying foul over ESPN’s decision to choose Jenner, 65, instead of Mount St. Joseph basketball player Lauren Hill, who courageously battled brain cancer while staying on the university team. The 19-year-old lost her fight against cancer on April 10. She raised 1.5 million for cancer research and after she died another 4.5 million was pledged.

Now that I've read this thread, i know what it's about, I don't look at the TV and cable news any more.

A waste. Sad
