Couldn't get to sleep for a long time last night. Finally got up about 3:30 and the coffee was already on - my lovely bride knew I was going to be biting at the bit to hit the road again.

So we had coffee and talked for awhile and I rolled Traveller out about 4:45 am this morning. Time to BLASTOFF! Had to swing by the bank and got headed out about 5:15 on I-49 north out of Broussard.
Beautiful sunrise as I rode along I-49 and a few hours later, crossed over into Texas. It was starting to get warm and my GPS took me on an industrial bypass with a ton of lights.

GPS wanted to take me through Dallas and Google Maps had given me a different route. I went with the map, but should have gone with my GPS. Miles and miles of 2 lanes with little towns that eventually let up to Paris and Hugo where I got on the Indian Nation Turnpike. Missed the Oklahoma sign because I thought Hugo was in Texas and was in the zone when I looked over and saw the Oklahoma sign pass by. Great ride - but get ready to shell out about 10 bucks in tolls. Man, IT WAS HOT! Threw the jacket in the trunk, lathered up with sunscreen and rode across Oklahoma in a tee shirt. Took the turnpike up to Tulsa and maps had shown me to take 64 west to I-35. 64 was a nice ride, but was 2 lane and SLOW. Great ride into Tulsa though. I didn't think I would EVER get to I-35 and finally did. Threw the jacket back on and got on the superslab (that I should have taken all along) up to Kansas.

Nice ride through Kansas so far (light traffic on the superslab). Finally at 9:00 this evening, I decided to stop and get a room (dont see well at night - plus Bonnie told me at the last gas stop - IF YOU DONT STOP AND GET A ROOM, YOU CANT GO AND PLAY WITH YOUR FRIENDS ANYMORE!)

So stopped in Concordia, Kansas for the night. THen realized I had not eaten anything except gas station crap all day, so pickings are scarce here, so went up to Pizzahut and grabbed dinner to bring back to the room.

Well, nice ride today - just HOT, AND I MEAN HOT!!!!!! No rain. 900 miles even to get here. So, should be a short 600 jaunt tomorrow to Spearfish! SEE YA"LL TOMORROW!!!!
