I am (for now) a Two Valkyrie owner.  Ok, Yes, the family room is getting crowded!!  The last two days feels like two weeks.

So I seen a Valkyrie on the classifieds (some of you probably wished you were closer.....sorry) anyways, so I see this Valkyrie Tourer for a price one just cannot pas up if its doable (and it was)

So after a couple phone calls with Dan, the most honest seller I have ever dealt with BTW...I load the ramps in the pickemup truck and head to Orlando.  Let me tell you if you have not been there lately, its like  a different world you have to pay to drive on all the roads down there.........ok, that's another story.

So I leave Northwest Florida at 0430 hrs and arrive around noon (that's with losing an hour of course)_

After a short ride and some getting to know a soon to be former Valkyrie owner we to the business and Im back on my way.  I had to stop for breakfast around 5 pm so that held me up and a short leg stretch and I'm back on the road and make it home around 830pm.

So Friday I piddle around with some cleaning and  closer looking and the most important part, a better ride (more about that later)

Today I did the rear wheel and drive train R/R and finished a proper cleaning.  I also had to correct a horrible situation.

On the ride I didn't like how she handled, the front end wasn't right.  First of all the tire pressure was only 25 on both tires, that was an easy fix and the ride improved greatly but it still wanted to "hunt" and  act squirrely I didn't know exactly what was up until I got her on the lift.

The steering head bearings were very very tight, so that was the rest of the day...tearing down the front end enough to get to the locking nuts for the steering head.  I know there is a full on technical procedure to accomplish, I didn't have any desire to make this harder, so I just loosened them nuts until the bars felt right, locked her down and WOW such a big difference, feels just like my other bike now.

I still have a few things to do, Change the coolant, bleed the hydraulics and change the brushes in the alternator and it will be ready to go anywhere.

I wasn't expecting to fall for this machine, I wanted a back-up for the aging standard, but I wasn't sure this was the one.  But knew of a guy looking for a black and chrome tourer so I was ready for a possible quick sale.  The plan was always if he didn't take it I would just keep it, now Im hoping he doesn't.  If he doesn't  buy it, Ill keep this pretty thing!!  It just might save some miles on the old red and white.

Its a good thing I went through everything, so many mistakes the Dealership made, things not tightened, not right, K&N air filter with the oil on the wrong side.  Well its right now and runs like new and looks almost new.  Im liking the quiet pipes, never thought Id say that, guess Im getting older.

Funny thing, it shows more miles on the odometer than the old red and white does, it just doesn't have the invisible 100,000 that my first one has.

Ok, the important part, the pics....... Wink

Two of my Valkyrie friends came by and brought the guy interested in the Black Tourer.  Sounds like a possible deal, but he is slow to commit, so I guess Ill be switching off bikes for a little while, we shall see.  The best part is that one of my Valk buddies bought a Pingel but changed his mind as far as installing, so he traded me two OEM petcocks (one brand new one possibly good, needs checking out) for his new Pingel, I just installed it, now both bikes are running a Pingel and I couldn't be happier

Its now running handling and looking like part of the family........

Very nice pickup...I mean Tourer.  uglystupid2 I think you win either way-sell it for a nice profit or keep it.

That is a nice example!  I'm not usually a fan of stickers, but I really like the subtle dragon on the bag.  Fits.

Too bad she has to leave you.  (And it sure sounds like that's going to happen).
