I've been through some mayfly hatches but none this bad.  Motorcycle crashes because the road was too slick?

This is from Hastings, MN in  2012,  MNDOT sent out the snow plows to clear the bridge.

Ran into a mayfly swarm once on Route 3 going through Manchester, New Hampshire - on the way to Laconia.  Not nearly this bad, but we were in the clear and then suddenly in the dense swarm in seconds.  Thinking it was funny, side-by-side, of course we began to laugh at our situation.

...laughing open mouthed, by the way.

Bad idea.

Yah, been in a mayfly hatch on Mississippi River between Prairie du Chien and LaCrosse WI, not pretty with the boat in tow.  Made for slipping and slidding back and forth fishtailing on the road with boat trailer on roads.  Probably nothing this bad of a story, but bad enough for sure.  Wouldn't want to be on a cycle for sure in a corner or braking hard.
