Mesa, AZ

« on: June 29, 2015, 05:50:23 AM »

There looks to be a small chance we may find ourselves moving out there for my wife's job. She flew out today for an interview tomorrow in Mesa.
Just looking for thoughts new folks might be interested in. So far it looks like the most affordable housing is in Mesa. Sort of excited about a garage and having a pool again...
Anyway thanks in advance for your input!

Might have a better than average shot...no phone interview, just flew her out...
Back in 2010 when we she was looking at a different position, we narrowed it down to Philly and Mesa...and Philly had an opening faster..
Only regret for going to Philly back then. The housing prices in the Mesa area was crazy, a SERIOUS buyers market

Taxes are low too. Water bills are crazy high. Get desert landscaping.

If you work in the daytime, you'll want to live east of where you work.  That way you have the sun to your back going and coming.  We live in Gilbert right next door to Mesa and wouldn't want to live anywhere else (of course, I'm sure the Mesa folks feel the same way).

Quite a change Tony!  Will be good to have you in the neighborhood; well, loosely speaking... I'm way over on the other side of Phoenix.  Of course, we all could ride to InZane 16 together!

Without getting the nitty gritty from a realtor which we wont do until she gets an offer <fingers crossed> Gilbert and Mesa seems to be the leaders of the pack based on location to her work and cost...the trick is going to be getting out of this house, still waiting on the report from our real estate agent we used to get the Philly house
...ha still have the place in Alabama, rent to buy but if they payment history is any indication, dont see them getting a mortgae

I'm a bit south of the big oven (Phoenix), just outside Tucson.  We're generally a bit cooler than "up there"... Grin

Three things you may not have but will once you start riding here in summer:

When  looking for your  home for purchase ,  try and get it as close to the job site as possible,  the freeways are a parking lot  during the morning and evening commutes to and from work.

Thats the plan, get a place close to her work (the reason we are moving) and then I will just deal with whatever I find.

Yep.  We could always use another Valk pilot in the valley.

Never a dull moment around these parts.

Trying not to get too excited, keep everything in check. Still waiting on a market report for our area but seeing some pretty nice houses in our price range. Super exited about the prospect of a 2 or even 3 car garage...and an RV gate....whatever, I want one LOL
