so apparently an on scene reporter at a gay parade sees a black flag w/ some symbols on it and thinks it's an ISIS flag. the guys at ISIS are probably scratching their heads on this one.

BF, did you see the black flag in the background?

a portion of the flag has a section in white w/ pictures of sex toys (in black) in it.

the pictures are sideways, but they're there.

I watched the video again and at about the 20 second mark you get a good shot of it.

.........so that would be the "Assis" flag.......... official flag of the gay caballeros.

Can't imagine the newscaster when she finally gets the information on what it actually is!
Too funny. Loved the part where she said "it was clearly written in Arabic"

Not that I think very highly of CNN, but I really can't rip on 'em too much for this one, at a quick glance it looks like an ISIS flag, it's only on closer inspection that you can tell that the writing isn't... er... Arabic...

Actual ISIS flag:

The, er... dildo and butt plug ISIS flag (Now THERE'S a phrase I never thought I'd hafta type!)

Jess - After the attempted Jihad here in Garland Tx (That's the town I'm next to, that event happened less than 5 miles from me) this shirt came out, I still need to get one:

It's really unbelievable we haven't had more (or much of any) attempts in the greater DC area (excepting 911 Pentagon).  It is so vastly multicultural here, you'd have no idea if there were hundreds of bearded jihadis out and about daily, or it's just the regular crowd (like half the DC cabdrivers, and the guy who does my annual car inspection).

That and all the lefties has made me feel like I am living in hostile territory for the last 20 years, so I rarely wear anything at all that shows my colors, or politics.  Two tours in the Middle East (with a lot of travel) taught me to blend in (and carry concealed).  I do fly the flag, which is rare in my neighborhood.

Last big decision of my life; move or not.  Many pros and cons.  I continue to debate myself all the time (esp every fall with five giant oaks).

Staying is easy, moving is a big PITA.  I have lived here longer than anywhere and really like my little home, just not where it is located.  The debate continues.

There are plenty of good "little" homes available in the REAL VA.

Have a big Yard sale and move on down here.

Anything that you sell is something that you don't have to move.

Don't say that too loud, our family is packing up today from WI and driving 15 hours to DC tomorrow morning staying a few blocks right from Capital on Massachusetts Ave and parking a few HUGE city blocks away in a parking panda garage for the week.  Wish us luck,  a northerner small midwestern town family going to one of the most populated/diverse cities in the country.  I best be on my best behavior and WATCH while there, going to be an adventure for sure.  I hear terrorist alert is on HIGH alert all over this weekend.

91 bucks to leave your car parked in a garage unable to get at it (one in, only one out total) for about 5 days plus 230 bucks per night in a hotel,  Geesh,  must be staying at the Ritz or something?   Sad  Fancy hotel doesn't even have a pool to do cannonballs in.   Cry Roll Eyes

Not my idea, would rather go see Colorado/Utah scenery instead.   cooldude

Well have fun.   crazy2

If you go down to the mall for the fireworks know that security will be very high, and there will be entry point checks.  I know you're not crazy enough to have a handgun, but even pocket knives and such could be a problem.

I found this link, but blades (lengths) are not covered.

http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/National-Mall-Fireworks-Find-Public-Access-Points-311284441.html

OK, no knives of any kind.
i

Personally, I would not go down there at all.

The irony of all those prohibited items for people going to celebrating their "freedom" is almost painful...

Add in all the other limits, laws, restrictions, regulations, etc. that all levels of government has imposed on us, and I am pretty sure the Founding Fathers would start the Revolution all over again.  We have far more rules, laws, taxes, etc., than they ever thought of, much less had imposed by Great Britian!
