Oxford nylon, and only water resistant. In a downpour, or for any distance....
resistance is futile.

Why buy rain gear that is not waterproof?
Go with Tourmaster (or Nelson Rig).
My all season nonmesh textile riding jacket is waterproof (and even without the liner is too hot in hot weather), but when traveling I almost always have it with me, and I have discovered it is better with all 8 vents open, than my TM raincoat (barely vented), which is pure torture in the heat. And even with all the vents open in the rain, I don't really get wet (behind an interstate faring and shield).
So I often end up with the Tour Master bibs/pants, and my textile jacket with all vents open in the rain. And when it clears, but may still rain, I no longer stow anything in the bags, I bungee it topside so it is dry when I need it again.
