My new Valk has a set of horns attached to the front chrome rails that I have removed leaving a bracket that is begging for something to display.  Any ideas on where I can find something?  Anyone that is interested in the horns can PM me.  There is a matching set of nuts (testicles) that I also removed--I can hear the groans over the keyboard.

You removed the unsightly horns to bring your bike to a much more appealing look, I don't remember seeing anyone adding anything to that fender guard.

Never seen anything like that before and no, I'm not interested but, it does look like it's time for a tire.

Man your previous owner had some style  Grin
All of the hood ornaments I've seen we're on top of the fender. There was a thread about them a while back. You might be able to find it in the search button.

That's a great looking figurehead OzarkRider, thanks.  If I could find one like that with rear mounding screws in stead of bottom, I'd buy it.

I'll take the horns, especially if you bought the bike in Groveport, Ohio.  You beat me by a day...

I don't believe anything sticking out beyond the fender would look good.

Now take the fender guard off and sell it. That'll look better.

Not if there's a hole drilled in the front fender.

Rubber band ?
Yup, used them on sheep as well. As for the nuts, need to sent them to D.C......appears to be a great lack of any in that city.  Angry

A metal pin (like a vest pin) might look good.

I have a number of custom silver dollar size stamped coins (military and firearm), but no rear mount and I wouldn't want to bugger them up.

I'd be partial to this one. (some you have to earn)

I had a toy firefighter for a few years in honor of my Dad a fireman who passed away in 05. I then replaced it with a pewter dragon but the wings always broke due to road vibration. A dragon head would be nice.

I think you need something there only because you were used to seeing the horns there.  I think after it's been unadorned for a couple of months you'll lose the urge to put something on it, and it will look fine.  Or, in the mean time, put something like this on it:

Find a cool belt buckle you like and cut the bits off the back.

Years ago, I mounted a metal skeleton kilroy-was-here kind of deal on my license plate light mount.  It had the head looking back (at tailgaters), and the two arms and hands reached over the edge holding on.  Must have been pot metal, because after a couple bad pot holes, his head flew off.

if you can get power down there, it's a good spot and looks like the bracket is sturdy enough for a single spot, fog or flood light.

for kicks, how about a pinwheel

or

one of those kiddie license plates

or

a chrome air horn

or

a giant eyeball, Cyclopes like

Some clever ideas here, boys...I especially like the big nose and glasses. Wink

Sorry Camel Toe, these have already been claimed.  If anything goes awry, I will let you know.

BTW, new tires going on today, Thanks Rams.  I had thought about doing myself, but man what a lot of work.  Honda dealership is doing.  I know Dunlops get ragged pretty good on this and the Shadow forum, but I am getting the Elite 3, which has received pretty good reviews.  As with any tire, I think air pressure maintenance has more to do with performance and wearability than cost or brand.  I do know that at $600, I don't want to have to replace them in 8000 miles.  We'll see.

Since you mentioned it, forty-two up front and forty-five at the rear has worked for me.   cooldude

AT 600 bucks total for 2 dunlop elite III's you could almost get, not quite,  say the cheap shinko SE890's  installed at 1/2 that price and am sure 2 sets of shinko's will last longer than any one set of tires of any brand mfg. including dunlops which probably will last just a tad longer than most other mfgs.

I have found that most Honda dealers around me anyways markup their labor VERY high for tire installs if not purchased their already overpriced tires they have in stock or can get ordered thru them as well.   Have had much better being fair price tire installs at non-Honda dealerships.

Am hoping to get 9K miles on my Shinko rear tire just installed this spring for 200 bucks total in price including labor since my Avon Cobra rear tire also only lasted not quite 10K miles.  Front tire install would run total another 150 bucks or so.   If  you can get a rear tire install for labor alone done for under 100 bucks, you done good.  I know two shops locally who will do it for around 80 bucks for rear tire and 60 or so for front tire install.

I went to one Honda dealer 30 miles from my house and test drove on consignment a used Honda Valkyrie I/S this spring as well.  After test drive, I told him they better get brakes done on that thing before another test ride and new tires as well.  The sales guy didn't care since on consignment only said well if that is the case needing brakes, etc., it will be on the consignment seller's dime, not theirs.  Nice of them to care about potential customers lives at stake to at least test drive it first and inspect for safety issues.  All they wanted is their consignment money on a sale is all.

Anyways,  as far as hood ornaments being back on topic,  I like the maiden head the best, looks nice or maybe find a hood ornament from some car made in the 1920's thru 1950's had some cool ones back then.
