I was at the parts counter of a local electrical supply house last week and struck up a conversation with a guy who was also waiting at the counter.

Turned out he was the owner of our local Honda motorcycle and car dealerships. The motorcycle dealership http://www.thompsonsmotorsports.com/ has an amazing display of vintage, mostly Japanese motorcycles. It's a great dealership and the vintage bikes on display are worth going to see even if you aren't looking to buy anything.

When he told me who he was I said "you mean you are the owner of all those incredible vintage motorcycles?" Which led to quite a conversation. He's a rider and a serious one. He's ridden to Alaska twice and down into South America within the past year or two. Seemed to be a genuinely nice guy, I felt lucky and honored to meet a guy who has done so much for motorcycling locally. We talked bikes (he rides a wing currently) and then he left.

A few minutes later he came back in and asked if that was my Valk in the lot, and of course, it was. He asked that when I am finally done riding her I consider letting him put her in the Museum. Not sure that day will ever come but it was quite a complement.

Wow.....how many days before that big smile left your face? Indeed, quite the compliment, especially considering the source....

The only Valkyrie that I have seen in a museum was in the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa IA.  It was a bike that had been to Alaska and back.  It's really cool that your Valk has a chance to end up in such a place when it's ready to come off the road...
