Never been there or sturgis for that matter, not my cup of tea, but I have watched most of his shows which gave me a taste of what it would be like.....but having watched the show I am very suspicious about this fire.......

I heard the worst part of the fire was the oil soaked parking lot!

I've gone to the Sturgis rally six times in the last eight years but have never gone to the Full Throttle.  It is (was) east of Sturgis, across the road from the Buffalo Chip Campground.  Never camped there either.

This looks like a total loss, but I assume it will be rebuilt.  This is still a choice location...

Place was a pit but boy did it have a life all of its own. What a show during the rally. Well, I still have a couple of "T" shirts. Hope it was insured didn't see any mention of that.

Actually it was across from the Glenco Campground. Buffalo Chip is just up the road east. Have stayed in both twice and have no desire to go back to either. You get no sleep but I have to admit, it's entertaining for awhile. Then it gets old,, or maybe I got old.  Wink

Probably a little of both  Smiley. I can relate, being kept up all night is not my idea of fun. Maybe 30-40 years ago.

Well, I guarantee one thing, if someone is going to keep me up all night having fun, I better be intimately involved in that fun.  Wink   As far as the Full Throttle Saloon goes, I'll bet it was insured for a whole lot and will no doubt be back for next year but new and improved.    Funny how those things happen.

Ive only been there a few times. Only during the day. Never cared for it and I don't get to that side of town anymore. Better bars in town. My guess is the bar was worth over a million bucks. Im sure it was insured for that or more. I'm betting you can build a nice place for a cool mill.  coolsmiley

Cheapest way to make the needed upgrades.
Too much moronic manufactured drama in the show for me. Absolutely a money machine though.

That's why I don't think it was arson. He prob makes more in 2 weeks then he would from insurance. $5/$6 a beer x a few 100,000 people or $10/shot x a few 100,000 people adds up.

In a less politically correct era, the term "Jewish Lightning" would have been used to describe a midnight fire of unknown origin.
The Mafia were experts in carrying those out...for the right cut of the insurance settlement. Wink
But, that would never happen in little'ol Sturgis...would it? Evil

I was always told there was no such thing  Lips Sealed  :coolsmileyn:
Your mama told you wrong.
The Mafia "owned" the State of Rhode Island from the 40's and well into the 90's; politicians, judges, cops, clergy, businesses, unions.  All locked up neat and tight.
When the mayor of your capital city is named Buddy Cianci...well, that about says it all.
The man who ran it all was Raymond Patriarca and you didn't cross Ray.  This Whitey Bulger character was small potatoes next to Mr. Patriarca and his family.  The ran it out of the Coin-O-Matic in what is called Federal Hill; you walked briskly by the doorway when you were kid, but slowed down to see if you could catch a glimpse of the man through the storefront windows so you'd have a story to tell your buddies later on.
Nothing was bought, sold, brokered, moved, built, demolished, imported, exported, created nor destroyed without "The Boys" getting their cut.  That was the way it was.  They were an efficiently run organization with no opposition nor (live) defectors back then.
Yeah, I am a Mafia expert; ya gotta problem with that, cycle boy?  Grin
Just kiddin'...maybe... Grin...no really... Grin... Smiley

If you truly were, you wouldn't be spoutin off.  uglystupid2
The characters in the TV show you saw had nothing to do with the fire at Full Throttle.
500 gallons of white lighting accelerated that fire - who knows how it started
