Stray bullet out of over 30 shots fired found its way into the head of a family friend.  Carey Gabay IS the American Dream come true. Grew up in public housing in Bronx, NY. Lost a brother to the streets. Went to public schools until he was accepted to Harvard, and then Harvard Law. He worked as a corporate and banking lawyer for a good stretch and then most recently as 1st deputy council to Gov. Cuomo who called Carey a "Beautiful Person" who wanted to give back. He read scripture at my brother and sisters wedding and he danced at mine, what a great dancer. I hope and pray that he will dance again at his first unborn baby's wedding. He says they're doing everything, yadda, yadda, but took away an extremely effective means of keeping illegal guns off the streets, especially in a neighborhood like the one where this terrible thing happened. And I don't just blame him. I've been very outspoken about that moron mayor in Chicago. I don't know how he sleeps at night with all the innocent lives lost during his watch. |

I'm so sorry for your friend. I pray that everything turns out alright.
Unfortunately they will just use this as an excuse to pass more laws with no teeth and blame everybody but the criminals for their plight. Stop and frisk needs to be brought back.
Maybe add, shoot on sight.

Thanks all for the kind words.
Carey's a really cool guy and we all just wish it wasn't happening. My brother-in-law went to see him and lend support to his family (he and Carey were in the same class in HS, that's how we know him.) and heard the prognosis isn't good.

G-Man I will say a prayer for your friend. I will also say a prayer that folks stand up and start holding these politicians accountable for their actions. Broken window policy works. Might seem like cops are picking on folks but if you enforce the law equally across the board on everything it has been proven to reduce all crime.
