Picked one up last week.
I have been carring a Taurus TCP .380 for 5 yrs or more. Good little gun but had some quirks that I had to iron out initially. Once those were fine it shot flawlessly.
I use to shoot my carry arms once a month. Got busy and haven't shot them since fall. Decided to last week. Had to pull the trigger x3 to get it to fire each round. Wouldn't eject all the way every other round. Kinda scary since sometimes this was my primary carry to most places.  Sad Has takin some abuse since last fall. Guess it couldn't hold up to it. So I thought Id see what the local guy has before I sent it in for a free fix.
Found the bodyguard for $349 ish. Fit nice and had a similar fit to the TCP, which I liked better then the LCP. Told him about the TCP and worked out a trade in price. After waking the addition with my .45 the other day I decided to go to a coworkers house to shoot. He lives next to the addition.  Grin Shot real nice with no flaws. Fairly accurate at 20' ish. Bad thing was it has a long trigger pull. But the more I shot it the more I got use to it. I also like it has a external safety. My TCP didn't and I never carried a round in the chamber. Yea yea I know your finger off the trigger is a safety but for what I did with it I really didn't want to take a chance.  Lips Sealed
Over all very pleased with the gun.  cooldude

Brian, nice choice.  I sold my Bersa .380 Thunder.  Very reliable too but too heavy for pocket carry.

I'm now carrying a Glock 42 (.380)  The first one was defective but Glock sent me a new one.  I ran 100 rounds through it until it was too hot to hold, no hickups of any kind,

You'll probably hear that you should be carrying a Smith 500 or at least a .460 Smith.  It's interesting here that carry guns keep getting bigger and bigger and that the .380 is considered by some as a mouse gun.

Any gun is better than none and the Body Guard or my Glock can be carried in a pocket holster.  I reserve the Glock 22 (40 cal) for colder weather.

Good choice.

I love all my Bersa's. Thinking about the Bersa CC .380 to add to my collection. I have a Bersa in .380 and love it. Its a double stack mag. Prob carry the Bersa .45 tonight since its 'cold' out. To bad Bersa doesn't make a pocket model.

Used to have a large selection of carries for different clothing, seasons, holster types.  Before they sunk of course.  But even with several of each .380's, .40's, .45's. 9's, I found my favorite for all seasons, diminutive size, light weight, yet hard hitting, became two Smith wheelguns: both J-framed .357mag snubbies, a model 60 with exposed hammer carried strong side IWB in a Hybrid holster - VERY comfortable - and a model 649 shrouded hammer for the concealment vest.  Always have a backup, and have two draw positions that covers every situation e.g. seated in car or elsewhere, the shoulder pocket carry has quick access, while not seated the strong side belt carry is quick.  And always have a backup.  Both handle identically and w/o reloading you have 10 .357mag rounds to serve up. They never jam, have 3# single action or 11# double triggers, don't throw evidence brass all over AND - they are Shotgun Joe approved not being autoloaders the libs blame for all crime.  Don't have to lose them in a boating accident. I generally get 3" groups on the pistol range even with fixed iron sights - equals good minute-of-BG.  Bad side - buying both will ding your wallet around $1200 new plus holsters. If I was going to buy just one it would be the 649, shrouded hammer.  No snagging in any carry.

Just my 2 bits.

I would not be surprised if that Jerry could hit the moon with a derringer.

Nice piece there Fudgie.  Several outfits make lasers for that S&W M&P Bodyguard .380, and if you want one, hold off on getting a holster, or get a pocket holster.

They make a model with the laser. He had one. I opted against it. If Im pulling it in self defense I'm not taking the time to turn the laser on.  crazy2

I had an LCR 9S Pro for CC.

It was a perfect size but I found it to be uncomfortable to shoot more than a few rounds.

I sold it to a friend of a friend and bought a Springfield XDs 9mm.

A few weeks later I axed my friend if his friend had shot the Ruger.

He said "Yeah...through his right thigh, left calf and into the concrete floor!"

Evidently he was showing his brother how to disassemble and clean it properly.

Took the mag out but had one in the chamber?!..........what?

Other than Glocks specifically which rarely work in my hands I've had far more jams from revolvers than from quality semi autos... But, whatever you're comfortable and competent with... Smiley

The only jamb I ever had with a revolver was a hard kicking handload work a bullet forward enough to stop the cylinder from turning.  Of course I'd never carry with a handload.  (esp mine)

Well, I also screwed up the timing in an Italian replica .44 Colts Dragoon, from fanning the hammer with full load 60 grs FFFG in each cylinder, but that nonsence was my own fault.  I could not hit a big tree with that thing, but it shot five feet of flame and produced clouds of smoke.  It weighs about 10 lbs and I wouldn't carry it either.  (only firearm I ever owned that I had to replace the nipples on  Grin)

My Glock story is different. Some years back I bought a gen 3 Glock 35 .40 cal tactical/practical.

I cleaned it first then took it to class where we were instructing police cadets in safety and hands on training in firearms.   There were seven cadets of all ages. Most had not fired a handgun and one had not fired ANY firearm.

After suitable instruction and making sure they were all safe to do live fire, we brought them into the police indoor shooting range.

Using PMC 180 grain rounds in the model 35 Glock, each cadet shot 5 rounds under strict tutelage from us. At least one 'limp wristed' the Glock.  Straight out of the box the Glock performed flawlessly, no FTF, no kabooms, No stove pipes, no nuttin.

I've had many handguns of all types and makes, Colts, Rugers, Smiths, Bersa, Sigs, Brownings, Hi Standards.etc.. None of them were more reliable than the three Glocks that I presently own.

The "Tupperwear' Glock seems to be the victim of a lot of stories.  That's why I put in my .02
