My new Russell seat. I am extremely happy with this seat. With my stock seat my butt would kill me after 400 miles. With the the Ultimate Low Boy it was a little better but it still hurt. We did 11 hours the first day, 9 hours second day, 8 the third day. I felt GREAT . I wish I'd have bit the bullet years ago now. I highly recommend Russell Day Long to anyone looking for a GREAT SEAT

That is a great seat. Buddy of mine has that seat on his Rocket 3. He loves it.
Ultimate suits me fine.

My 82 Goldwing had a Russell seat on it when I bought it. I love it! I haven't done any 8-900 mile days yet, but I'm sure it would haul my rotund butt in comfort.

I'm an upholsterer, and I'm seriously considering it for my Valk instead of doing it myself. They have that Foaminator contraption that just dials it right in.....

I very seldom recommend businesses. But I've got to say they were great !  I think the real "secret" to the seat is the wings. It's probably not as big of a deal in most places but for me the Sunbrella is great. It's nice to get on without hearing a sizzling sound.  Shocked

My Russell system is on the way - Brown has it.  Can't wait to have a happy butt!  Not only will it feel great, but look great too.  I had them add my custom embroidery on both backrests.  Got the software to convert the JPGs to DST files for their embroidery machine.  Put these graphics on, in silver thread, helmet silver & black:

The Russell Day long seat worked for me....after the Ultimate I bought was sent back for a refund. I only have experience between the stock I/S seat, the Ultimate Big Boy and the Russell...so I can't judge the others.

Did you get this pattern, Meathead?

I got mime Friday.  Didn't have a chance to change it out and ride until today.
Only had time for a couple hundred miles, but so far I love it.
I'll be posting a 4 piece Ultimate King in a few days.

Not for a lot of people; maybe for none.  Dropbox is a good place to use to send pictures between folks but not such a good place to share pictures in postings.

If your web address begins with https it tells you it's protected (secure) and usually that means you'll have to be signed in to see it.

No prob....thanks for sharing it! I've still yet to hear of ANYONE who had a seat personally made for them by RDL(not bought second hand) who said, "This just isn't working, I need to try something else!"

I get the locked message. I've never seen Sunbrella on a bike seat. I've stitched hundreds of patio cushions and the like, but never a bike seat.

I think you could resell it with no problem. You just need to find another couple with a green and silver Valkyrie Interstate who happened to be named Rob and Brenda.

Where's the issue with THAT?  2funny Cheesy Grin Shocked

I guess wimmin like that.  Putting their names on your stuff or yourself.  Like being branded. Won't do it myself.  At least on the seats - they ARE replacable.  But expensive.  Mine was twice the typical price for aftermarket seats.  Maybe if the relationship doesn't work out you can obscure the name with something else.  Kinda like the un-tattoo business.  Enough of that for them to make a stupid reality show out of it.  Also Russells - well if your buyer doesn't know it, might not be bad that the seat is made to fit YOUR butt, YOUR weight and YOUR inseam - so it's personalized in more ways than just the names. My embroidery - well oughta be attractive to any 2A guys - but if they aren't onboard with that, MOLON LABE and a Spartan helmet image might be obscure enough that even a liberal might think it's just pretty art. Even if I tell them the former is an image honoring a Spartan king of antiquity.

Well they can be recovered. But like I say I don't think I'll be selling any time soon. As far as the relationship thing, I think it will hold up  Smiley . (It was my idea for her name though)  coolsmiley
