He told me he has always been impressed with the Valkyrie, especially when we're riding together and twist the throttles and I walk away. Cool

That and I showed him the "Nickel Trick" years ago.

He bought it from his brother who's moving and didn't want to take it.  His brother bought a wing trike years ago and has let this beauty sit in his garage.

98 Standard 38K w/OEM screen, full Ultimate seat setup, light bar, progressive rears and some brand of bags I don't recognize.

Gonna need some carb work if the B-12 treatment doesn't work.

Yeah, I make a point of mentioning the recalls when ever some of them start crap.  But, that ain't often.   And it's always good natured.

Actually, none of them say any thing negative in front of me and most of them respect the Valk for what she is.

Reliable, quiet, smooth, fast, and just Bad Ass looking!

Now, the other HD guys are giving the new Valk owner some stuff.  He says "I don't care what they say, and I haven't sold my Harley,  yet" Cheesy

I'd be interested in hearing your review of your Valkyrie when you finally put yours back on the road.    Wink

Don't hold your breath, it will be at least next summer before I even get to think about it. I have a hundred home projects to get finished by March as I will by then be the first time grandparent of twin boys. I may even be moving to your neck of the woods in order to be a help. The projects need finishing anyway but it's hard to sell an unfinished house.

Well John,
That offer I made is still valid.   Additionally, if I can help in anyway, just let me know.   But, should there be any diaper changing involved, I will be holding my breath.   Wink

Went on a ride a few weeks ago. There was a Canadian rider there riding a late 80's Harley bagger. He was a big boy, easily 350 lbs. So I had a definite advantage over him in the horse power to weight ratio.  We got into the throttle leaving a light and I blew past him. Later that day he spent a while walking around my bike and asked me a few questions. He was quite surprised at the prices that these bikes can be had for. I wouldn't be surprised to bump into him again sitting on top of a flat 6.

Not a slam against HDs, I have a buddy (my best friend) I won't use his name, "STEVE", (he visits this site) that rides Electra Glide just like mine. Died in the wool Harley as long as I can remember. We left at 4:00 AM and we were on a one day 400 mile or so jaunt. We stopped for fuel on the way back home. I notice he  was doing "the stretch" and asked him what was up? "My back is a little sore he said".

"Take my Valk and I will finish the ride on your EG" Na he said: (God forbid if he didn't have his ass on a Harley) I finally talked him into it. We only had about 100 miles to go so to get  home so we took off. We got home and he pulled into his garage, funny. I parked his bike at the door. He got off the bike and shut the garage door. "I said WTH"? "You aren't getting this back".   2funny  I don't need 2 Electra Glides so I don't think so". He opened the door and said: "do you mind if I take Tammy for a ride real quick"? Nope, help yourself"?

Long story short, there is now a VALKYRIE in his garage. I haven't seen him on the Harley in quite some time and his wife won't ride 2 up unless it's on the Valk. She said: "THANK YOU"! Any long trip, I ride my Valk and so does STEVE now.   cooldude

I really love riding the old Harley, but I wouldn't want to get on it and head to California, even though my Dad did things like that routinely!
Here's a shot of Dad and I right after he gave me the Harley.

I wish Dad had gotten to ride my Valk, he would have really loved it I'm sure. (Except for the quiet pipes.) I can almost hear his voice in the thundering pound of that old '48.

Nice scooter.    cooldude  I still have my 96 Springer, it is a fun bike and I will ride it 400 miles without a problem. Can't do much more it's a rigid mounted motor.

First report. cooldude

I talked to my buddies wife today and she stated, he told her he loves the bike, she's going to love riding on it, he now knows why I love mine and he thinks he's going to sell his Harley. Cheesy

I think he's only got one ride in cause the registration process got messed up.

Stopped at my buddies yesterday.  He hasn't got it registered yet due to a snafu at the DMV.

He's snuck a few runs on her.  Says he really likes her.

I took it out for a quick spin.

Needs all fluids changed and bleeding done, the clutch M/C is low and the clutch grabs to fast.  Rear brake pedal almost hits the ground before brake works.

The BerryMan's seems to be working.

I had to show him the choke/enricher proper engagement, he was dong the pushing till resistance thing and not moving anything.

He's gonna need some 4" risers and adjust the bars down some.

Other than that, she's a screamer.

The bags have a "Champion" sticker on the bottom.

Ditto on the FL board but this is x3.  Let me explain, look up "old fart" on the FL board. I met Don some time ago he rolls with a HD full dresser. Great guy loves to ride and he does! Jumped into the Valkyrie rides and joined the VRCC board and posts and joins rides. Fast forward, he bought a new Shadow for his wife, A GW trike for his wife and he just bought 97 red white - Tropic Travelers Tourer that moved to Pappy and now this beautiful 117k moochine in now Dons new beauty.  He still has the HD. Stop by the Florida board and see the thread "Don report" and post a  cooldude to Old Fart (Don).
