I have been working on several other peoples Valkyries lately and so, since Mexico has sent us this present.........wind and rain............I don't even plan on opening the shop today so I decided to work on my Valkyrie.

It was due for a rear brake fluid change and I just happened to have a perfect special tool for the job.  A spousal unit AKA my Wife.  It was amazing I could just use voice commands and the brake peddle got pressed and released at precisely the right moments and it took all of 5 min to expel the nasty oil and leave the brake full of brand new fluid.  You should get one of these tools if you don't have anything similar.  LOL

Ok also I did my periodic under cover cleaning.  Except I didn't the tank off again this time because I just had it off to refresh the oil on the K&N.  While all the covers were off I lubed the enricher slides and cables and tightened all the intake manifold screws.

All rubber and vinyl parts got a shot of cleaner preservative and then a complete coat of Maguire's spray wax on everything from top to bottom underneath and behind stuff.

Its all back together now but here are some shots in the progress.  This was a real stress reliever for me...... very therapeutic and you end up with a "new" bike......lol

Looks good.

I spent a few hours Sunday polishing some of the chrome on my "new" bike. The previous owner hadn't carried out a very strict cleaning program.

Oh well it gets me to take a really close look at the bike.

Need to get a price for re-chroming the rear fender solo rack. it's got some rust that will not polish off.

I've always been impressed when I see pics of your bike, it's one spotless machine.  If cleanliness is next to Godliness, the Almighty himself would be happy to ride across the universe on that Valk!

Valkorado, that is quite a compliment.  I have found with all my motorcycles over the years that if I don't let them get too dirty they are much easier to clean.   A few dozen coats of wax on everything helps too......if it don't stick, was it ever there?

Family room!  Working on the Valkyrie in the living room would risk losing that special tool I told you about!!

I'm not lazy,.....just think a dirty bike is OK.
It is not a beauty queen/trailer queen,....just a motorcycle.
But if you like a clean bike,...go ahead and wash it,....me, well I'll just ride it.

Sorry brother, guess that hit a nerve.... I know I don't ride as much as some only about 10.5K / year.....never trailered. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I just don't own a trailer.  I will just agree to disagree with you.  I think Valkyries are all beautiful and deserve daily rub downs and to look as good as they run!

Holy Crap!

Do you keep that thing in a hermetically sealed vacuum chamber?

I'd have to take my bike completely apart to get it that clean.

I will never look at these photos again  as an overwhelming feeling of inadequacy will engulf my entire being.

Lmao... I ride almost daily.  Been in more rain this year than the last 5 or 6 years combined.  Lots of wax and wipe her down after every ride.  Bike has just under 150k miles

I find it almost hard to believe that that bike looks like it does considering the miles it accumulates.

Glad I've seen it in person.   cooldude

Jeff, you should feel rightfully proud of how good your bike looks for it's age---especially that underside!  cooldude

I am truly, truly impressed by the immaculate condition kept on the inside of the bike where most people neve will see.

I tried getting it somewhat cleaned up under the side panels where all the buildup occurs on the wires and circuitry where most never see when I first got my bike 6+ years ago, but gave up and did a so-so job at best.  Unreal the amount of gunk that builds up in there over the past 15 years or so.  If never cleaned up in there since new,  hard to imagine ever getting it cleaned like yours EVER  since your bike is spotless.

My detail involves at most now taking the seat off and cleaning up below where the seat and battery area is.  Even there gets filthy after only 1 year and only do that cleaning once per year in next few weeks will have to do before winter storage.  Is a 2-3 day project all day each day for sure.

Your attention to detail is pretty incredible in my opinion.   Do you make house calls?   Roll Eyes

I do the same thing Chris. My riding buddies say I'm OCD. Most of them are NO CD. Some never change the oil, just add. See ya along side the road some day.  Good on ya, they last longer clean and taken care of.
