1: The artful act of intentionally misleading and deceiving the public in a graceful manner.
2: The art of contributing very little and gaining everything with no repercussions.
3: Never having to make good, on ones promises and commitments.
4: Taxing and nickel and diming the public, while living the lifestyle of the wealthy.
5: To influence and convince the public of good intention, but rarely working in their best interest.
6: To acquire life time benefits for minimal contributions.

Just my opinion!

1: A person who succumbs to politics.
2: A person in a governing body that approves and votes for things they don’t believe in.
3: A person that puts power, before the people.
4: A person in a governing body that backs themselves in a corner, and is forced to supports other politicians that don’t work in the best interest of the public.
5: One in governing body who looks for the good life with minimal contributions.
6: One in a governing body who spends the public’s tax dollars as if it was theirs, with no regrets.

Just my opinion!

I would say these apply to Polititians rather than Politics in general (nothing wrong with politics, it's the bozos that represent our governments in many cases that are the issue). These points would pretty much sum it up, for the most part here in Canada as well. Especially point #6!! Although, I may disagree with your point # 1 a bit  "....in a graceful manner" Not too sure that applies very often...

I think y'all are over thinking it.  Just break it down.

Poli: from the Latin for "many"
tics :  a spasm or "jerk"

Hence: politics = many jerks

You could also assume that tics was misspelled and was referencing a blood sucking parasite.

My all-encompassing definition of a successful politician is an elected official who cannot be bought off on any issue, but can be rented until the objective is achieved; he survives to be rented on another day on another issue but never jeopardizes the possibility to be re-elected  under any circumstance.

There truly doesn't seem like there is a hairs difference between a Ho, a Politician, a Lobbyist.

Don't even get into Lobbyist, I think they are the lowest form of living beings.

Again, just my opinion!

You know it funny! When they have tax money in hand, they say "Our" , but when the cookie jar gets low, it becomes "We"
