just the little matter of riding thru Mexico and the barge across the big lake in Panama

otherwise its just about 10000 miles to get there

If no dark side tire you will need to bring a spare set or ship to South America

I think I am gonna have to just read y'all's ride reports   Let me know how FG likes it

the barge across the big lake in Panama

The "big lake" in Panama isn't a problem.  There is a bridge that crosses the canal on the pacific side.  The problem is traversing the southern end of Panama...known as the Darien...Highway 1 kind of stops a ways before the Columbia border.

Personally speaking...I would SO ride that road...up or down...

I have a Castillian buddy who does my paint & body work who drives to Guatemala every other year to visit relatives.

He has a nice visit, sells the vehicle for a substantial profit and flies back to Little Rock.

He is more savvy about this sort of thing than the average American but says he always looks forward to trip.

I'm planning to make the trip with him next time he goes.
