NO FARGING LEAF BLOWERS.
I live in a development type community with about 60 houses in it. I am lucky to be able to work from home 3 days each week and look for any excuse to telework the other 2 days as well. From April through November, from 8:00 AM during the week and 10:00 AM on weekends, all you hear is that obnoxious sound of gas powered leaf blowers and lawn mowers. Every property is "done" on a different day, at a different time. Sometimes the racket that those little gas engines make goes on for so long that you don't realize what your whole body is going through until the noise stops. But then the quiet only lasts for a little while until the next one fires up. And just when you think it's safe to open a window again, the neighbors that do their own yard break out their machines in the evenings just around dinner time.
I once brought this up at a town meeting and watched everyone's heads nod in agreement with me and also agreed with me when I suggested that we limit the use of gas powered tools to just a couple days a week for the hired crews and DIYers and one day on the weekend just for the DIYers. Nothing ever happened.

We have three "seasons" 'round these parts -- weed wackin', wood splittin' and snow blowin' (or for the less fortunate such as myself, snow shovelin'). I need to invest in one of those newfangled blowers one of these years.

I feel for you... I can hear them out here sometimes too... We have three acres in Northern Greenville (SC) county, when we go there, there is no "noise pollution" unless a plane flies over -Mike

I feel your pain. I don't like hearing them either. But, they are one of the greatest inventions of mankind. I get leaves, lots of them. Used to have to hand rake them and man handle them into and out of a trailer. Now I get to blow them and then chop and vacuum them. Life is a whole lot easier now.

Here it is not real bad with the lawn services, we do have many, but they are here ten minutes and they are gone. The problem here is the neighbor plays lawn guy and has a back mounted leaf blower, which I think t is supercharged, fuel injected with zoomie pipes. And always on Sunday when you wan to chill. My TV volume is normally on 15, when they get rolling on Sun. morning, with all doors and windows closed, I have to put the volume on 36 and still hard to her the TV. So I know where you are coming from.

shoot bro, that doesn't bother me, because I live right next to an airport and a dirt track speedway. Interesting you should mention that, I live about a mile south from Selfridge Air Force Base, well when it comes to big aircraft a mile is like next door. Funny thing though, it seem our brains adjust to it, and cancels out the aircraft noises as they take off. Except when the schnook copters fly, when the their props slap the air, it sounds like someone's knocking at the front door. Seriously!!

Anyone who doesn't like my blower, mower and chipper vac is welcome to come over and rake until their arms nuts fall off.

Sorry about your noise issue, but there is nothing good about winter where I live.
