I know that nearly everyone who reads this board thinks that the Honda Valkyrie is the BEST bike out there. Well, I hate to burst all your bubbles, but, listen what happened to me today. It was unusually warm here in the Adirondack Mountains. 64 degrees and crystal clear skies. So, naturally, I rolled the big girl out for a ride. And, as I backed the beast out of her insulated, heated and well decorated shed....a striking flaw became apparent. The cuff of my relaxed-fit jeans, (which I wear to accommodate my powerful, keg-sized abs) caught on the vertical metal toe-tab of the kickstand. That's right! My cuff was briefly caught, and I had to raise my leg slightly to release it! It was truly INCONVENIENT and an obvious flaw that has never been revealed or discussed , here on the VRCC website. I must admit that, afterward, my beautiful black beast roared through the mountains flawlessly, carving through the curves aggressively, climbing peaks powerfully and, drawing admiring fans wherever she went. (Just as she always has, in the time that I've owned her) But, does all that incomparable joy and tried and true performance REALLY make up for that earlier inconvenience? Ask yourselves that question, the next time you are out there riding and smiling broadly on our so-called "wonderful" Valkyries.

It is a perfect bike except for those who are wearing their relaxed fit jeans over their abs. (sarcastic font in use and LMAO) I don't care much for pants drooping below the waist but then I don't like them pulled up to the armpits either. Glad you had a great ride.

The said flaw has been discussed at length and there is a solution. The relaxed-fit jeans you wear MUST be synthetic jeans and NOT the standard relaxed-fit. The wearing of ANY Harley Davidson apparel will cause this problem too. No one knows why but it is believed to be related to some kind of overcompensation complex.

No cuffs, no harness boots, no chains, no exposed bootlaces, no nothing that can catch on shifters and pegs and things. It is easy enough to hang up and go right over at a stop.
I learned this a long time ago on bicycles with chains.

Sorry guys. I was laughing aloud as I wrote this topic. I had hoped that everyone would get that I was being absurdly sarcastic. My silly complaint was to actually confirm how spectacular our rigs are. So much so, that I had to search out and CREATE (what I thought would be ) a ridiculous complaint. Sigh. Oh well, I guess that only I get my own sense of humor at times. But, it really WAS a perfect ride on a perfect rig today. Mike in New York

Personally... I'd write a very rude letter to the pants company. how dare they mess with our kickstands. (Sarcastic font still in play)

DUDE.....you have CUFFS on your JEANS? Serves you right then! Re. your keg sized abs, I was folding some clothes on the kitchen table the other day and in a panic my wife grabbed a pair of my shorts to carry a hot pan off the stove. I fussed at her for using my pants to hold a pot, she said "why not.....you do!"

Now if you wore yoga pants. that wouldn't have happened. If we could only get them to look like jeans???

Been there ... BUT.... When your cuff hits your kickshift during this same maneuver, you will get an instant lesson on square cut gears! Woo - Hoo!

Could be caused by either not replacing the crush washer during an oil change or perhaps you have a car tire.
