Sure seems that way when I see all the carrying on at Mizzou and Yale. I fully understand the racial issue but this has all the appearance of going waaay too far. They're raising a bunch of panty waists it would seem.....hurt my feelings in the least little bit and I'm going to raise a big stink. They have even been encouraged to call campus police if their "poor widdle feewins" have been ruffled. Unbelievable, I've seen riots over much less. What are these little kids going to do when they get out in the real world? An employer will have some rules for their personnel to follow, be it a dress code, personal responsibility for your actions both on and off the job, quality of your work, you name it. Procedures laid down long before they arrived and were well aware of how things were before taking the job. Then you go against the rules and get either a reprimand or walking papers. Often it has nothing to do with race, creed, or color.....but many times they will make it that issue.  crazy2

How about while you're getting an education, you grow a little thicker skin. You little twits are going to need it out in the real world. Talking about PC.....here's another definition; "Kitty" Culture. Might have misspelled that, kitty doesn't start with a "p"!!!!!  Wink

Richard Dawkins (Preemnient outspoken Atheist and not generally a fan of the non-PC crowd has this to say:

"A university is not a "safe space". If you need a safe space, leave, go home, hug your teddy & suck your thumb until ready for university."

John you forgot to mention that it is a FREE education the ball players are getting. Don't play pull the scholarship be done with it. I don't know what went on and won't pretend to but the head of the school stepping down WILL NOT solve whatever problem there is or perceived to be. It will just make them think from now on in life all they have to do is hold their breath and fall to the floor like a 2 year old to get what they want.

Think the news said they would have lost  mil 1 or a mil 2 had the not played footaball. And the news stated 7% of the students are of color. So I still don't know WHAT got their knickers in a twist but they got their wish. Is it the Chinese who say-careful what you wish for? Shoulda went to my bastion of higher learning and tried dat chit! Navy would have throwed their asses in the brig. AND the Marines run the brigs. But I would have left the ones striking footaball off the roster and went with what I had left. Even IF I only had eleven players. Dumb asses. RIDE SAFE.

Play the game. There are 100 or more out. Play third string. Tell the big boys, play, or pay for school. Tell the coach to coach, or lose his job too. I bet an assistant could take over.

Grow a pair. But, they chose to quit.

Isn't this the same Yale that Skull and Bones is an undergraduate senior secret society at?
Isn't this the same one that almost every president belongs to?
Isn't this the one that sent protesters to Ferguson to protest?
Inst this the one that sent protesters to other places also?

So why would this be thought of as unusual?

The universities have taught that our country is bad for decades, and now it's coming back to bite them in ass!

Some 19-year-old calls someone a black person and it's now called institutional.  It's the schools fault.  And then the school caves, just like that politician who said All Lives Matter and then apologized for saying that.

Liberalism on our campuses have shut down any differing of opinion and if you are brave enough to voice that differing opinion, you're out!

Daughter falls for the crap that there's a rape culture in our universities.  She belongs to a sorority, lives with 4 girls now, and can't come up with one incidence of a girl she knows being raped.  She also believes that a cry of rape should be the only thing that matters, even though I gave her many examples of where boy's/men's lives have been compromised due to false accusations.  We even saw a movie in which a young ball player was kicked off the team and out of school, name dragged through mud on TV and papers because the girl lied.  She said it was only a movie, so I gave her more examples.  Still not impressed.

I think I lost this kid somewhere in her 2nd year and it burns my ass that she's fallen for all this crap.

Just because our kids don't think the same as we do does not mean we've lost them. I would imagine you raised her to the best of your abilities. I would imagine you want her to think for herself and not be a follower. You can't really be upset when she has done just that.

Yes and no.  Yes, I'm proud of her and I want her to be a free thinker, however, learning how to discern between reality and propaganda needs to be incorporated there, but it's not taught any longer.  I remember learning in school how to review information.  Where is the info coming from, who paid for the study or research, are all side presented before deciding, etc?  I know that I've spoken about that with her but it surely wasn't addressed at school.  She's even told me that there IS such a thing as white privilege, yet was unable to define it and got upset with me because I said it was just another tactic to separate the races.

Gary, given time, and the solid foundation with which you two raised her, she should return to sanity. The indoctrination process at schools is well established, and it will take time for reality to reenter her consciousness. I'm sorry that this is hitting so close to home for you.

My fear is that in our increasingly PC society it's going to get more prevalent.  Unfortunately young adults' minds are very impressionable, and the logical thought process is often nullified by radical professors who promote personal and political ideologies and radical activism instead of actually teaching.  It's called liberal arts for a reason.

I just saw that welders and mechanics are in great demand, and can earn $100k from the get go in some areas.  If I had a kid considering college, I would very likely encourage him or her to research vocational training.

It's just sad that your kid would have to pay through the nose a bunch of high taxes to help the 'victims' with liberal arts degrees that can't get decent jobs.  Living on mom's couch allows plenty of time to protest their income inequality.

The schools have been teaching these kids for years and at a young age that the parents can't touch them or if they do, the kids need to call the law. The younger generation believes they can't be physically disciplined it is against the law. It ISN'T. You can spank your kids. You can't beat them, but you can spank them. A whack on the ass never hurt any kid. The tail is waggin the dog in our society. Idle threats, time outs and countin to 3 seem to be the discipline anymore.    2funny There is little if any respect at all anymore.

As I said, a bunch of this (you can't do this to me) is taught in the schools at an early age and these kids take it to the enth degree right on into adulthood. I'm not sure what it is gonna be in another 10 years but I'm not sure I want to.

What I did find that was funny as hell the mizzou football coach supported the boycotting players his full support.  I guess it couldn't be because of the probable 3 million dollars a year he makes  to coach a childrens game nah couldn't be that. Or paying cash for the 125 thousand dollar Mercedes or the 20 thousand dollar rolex watch.  No its because hes righting a wrong too damn funny.  And the funniest thing of all they interviewed a black student who cried victim and he had been at the school for seven long years and how terrible it was huh?  Turns out his dad makes eight million dollars a year!! Poor baby.  wahhhhhhh. lmao

Blinding flash of insight.

Link this to what just happened in Paris.

How could the Paris terror attack have been foiled???

Declare all of Paris a "terrorist free zone".

There that was easy huh?
