Today is probably the last beautiful day till spring in Mich., so I was messing around with the car. I decided to take a break and kick on the TV an watch a little court action. There was a dispute about parking, the guy suing, was a gentleman of color, and was wearing a, what I know to be a prayer hat. So naturally I assumed he was of Muslim religion. During the proceedings he made an interesting remark that got my attention, and I think he may have said it a couple times. Expressing himself he said "Oh My God"!! So correct me if I am wrong. wouldn't that be more of a response from a Christian, rather that a Muslim?  Or do I have it wrong.

Well Dreamaker all religions have a GOD whether it be a gold fat man, a Cow or satan. So when he said oh my God he could have been talking about Bessie the Cow ???

Just caught me off guard, I just thought he would reference to Allah rather than God. That is all out of my comfort zone, you know. Good info though!!

I may be wrong, but Allah was sort of son of God.  Their God and Christian God are the same, just getting to him differently.

I may be wrong, ...

Good that you started with the disclaimer.  Allah is simply "God" in Arabic.  A muslim would take offense at the claim that Jesus and Allah are the same.  They would agree that the Christian reference to God the Father and Allah may refer to the same god, but they insist that Allah is not capable of having a Son.

To the original post, I don't believe either a devout muslim or a devout Christian would use the phrase, "Oh, my God" as an interjection.

Thanks, I stand corrected.
