So I was interested in something. If anyone watched the video from the news page, there is a young lady with a shirt on that reads "Assata Taught Me" and I searched it, well here is the answer to that question. http://www.westernjournalism.com/what-assata-taught-me/Apparently it is a another protest for Black Lives, based on a woman who murdered a NJ State Trooper over 40 years ago

I told people that the Mizzou pres. Stepping down was the wrong thing to do because it wasn't solving any problems but bowing down and more would follow.

One of their demands is a separate area on campus for black students only. Better yet, white students at a black (or any) university protesting for a separate area for white students only?

I believe I used the term-knuckling under! I was stationed at N A S Memphis in 1964. Blacks HAD to ride in the back half of the bus. Is THAT what they want?? There was also a separate area-the balcony-for blacks only in the theatre. They also had their own entrances to the resturants and their own seating area. REALLY-after all these years they want to be separate? RIDE SAFE.

Over at Mizzou reports say the blacks pretty much stay to themselves. In one incident when mixed protests broke off to go back to ( save space I would assume ) some whites followed with them. The whites were told they were not allowed. Chuck

Please remember, not all black people feel this way or even agree with what is going on. There is a small minority that allows themselves to be persuaded by these antics. They prey on college kids because like all college kids, they believe they are wise beyond their years with no real word experiences. A very sad state of affairs. What's crazy about them protesting at Princeton is that it is probably one of the hardest schools to get into, all based on academics, and no student that makes it in graduates with a student loan debt.

It seems to me that Princeton is one of the elite liberal schools. So it just figures this had to happen.
It also seems to me that race relations during the past 7 years have been set back 5 decades. I have to wonder why. [ sarcasm font]

I recently saw an independent film on TV in which a a girl was born to two white, Jewish parents. The girl had an olive complexion to her skin and her hair was kind of frizzy. In the Jewish faith, there are many folks who look just like this, my father for example. The father in the film had a grandfather, who in pictures, looked like he had the same type of feature as the girl so it was easily explainable and nobody realy doubted anything. The girl went to temple, hebrew school, was bat mitzvahed, and lived a very normal life as a Jewish girl in upstate NY. Turns out that the mother had an affair with black man that she worked with and it was his child. This lead to the break-up of the marriage and yadda yadda yadda. Point to my story is that the girl was able to live the life of a white child and then as a young black woman in college (she found out about her true genes in late high school). While in college, she began to identify as a black woman. She joined some clubs and spent most of her time now with black people. She made a very telling statement that went something like this: White people never think about their race, while for black people, race is everywhere. It's in their books, movies, music, and conversations. I don't recall her giving a reason for this, just that this was the way it was. I'm not even gonna try to give a reason or opinion on this phenomena as I have absolutely no insight into this. I can relay a personal story, though. By sister-in-law is in the music industry here in NY and can get tickets for sporting and entertainment events. She was able to get 1st row floor seats for a Knick game that her husband and my other brother-in-law went to. Both very well dressed and spoken black men. While in the seats, a white man a couple rows behind them tapped one of them on the shoulder and said that they were in amazing seats and asked how they got the tickets for those seats. While hearing the story, I thought nothing of it. I thought the man was just being inquisitive as I also always wondered how people get front row court side seats. However, my bro-in-law felt he was being asked that question because he was black. Not wanting to get into it, I didn't ask follow-up questions but I did ask if the guy was rude or anything and he said, no. People think differently about race, for whatever the reasons are. I doubt very much that this will change anytime soon amongst us older folks. My son is bi-racial and I've asked him on many occasions if he's ever been ridiculed or made fun of or anything and his reply was a big relief to me. He said that race is never a factor with him and his friends and he's never heard any negative comments (he's 15 now). He plays ball with white, black, and hispanic kids, he goes to an all boys Catholic HS, his teachers (all white) gave us amazing feedback (last night as a matter of fact at open school night). We heard form several of them that he sits amongst his friends, all athletes in the school, and that they are a great bunch of kids who work together and pull for each other. Maybe there's hope yet!!!

Really? Figure of speech. Its time to put a stop to some of this crap. That is no figure of speech I've ever heard. I'm sure black people who have experienced dogs and hoses wouldn't see it as "a figure of speech". Sometimes we just can't hide our true feelings.

No dogs, no hoses. Good. How do we as a country get things straightened out? Does it come from sub standard education, parenting? Who is to set a "standard"? Nope I'm not just talking about one skin color.

Nope I'm not just talking about one skin color. I believe, and this is just my own opinion, we NEED to have more conservative principles taught in our schools. Unfortunately, we know where that ideas is going (down the toilet). Liberal ideology as far back as Murphey Brown has made it OK for children to be born out of wedlock. I'm not saying we need to shame the girls who get pregnant like the old days, or remove them from schools, but have to teach GIRLS before they become pregnant, the life of poverty they will live and what children born into that situation will/will not become. The schools have our kids for more hours each day than the parents do. It is there that core principles regarding being successful in society, and what a successful society as a whole needs in order to be successful. APART FROM THE ABC's AND 1,2,3's, citizenship and keys to life's success needs to be taught once again. The liberal/progressive agendas have made the current laxidasical (sp?) practices too easy to live by and too difficult to now overcome. I also hear about fathers being in jail, yadda, yadda. This is BS because we need to teach GIRLS that these aren't the men to be with in the first place. We need to stress to GIRLS that if they become pregnant, it's THEIR fault, not some random boy's fault. We need to teach them to be in charge of their own bodies and that becoming pregnant is their OWN responsibility , not both of their responsibilities. We need to teach GIRLS to respect THEMSELVES before granting PERMISSION to a boy to penetrate them without the use of birth control. Certainly not an easy task, and DEFINITELY one that will surely be met with resistance on the left.

Hay Jimmyt Thanks Jimmy! My wife and I both teach very conservative values, but I also have to hand it to school we chose. I gotta tell you, if you would have told me 20 years ago that this Jewish guy would be married to a black woman and the my son would attending a all boys Catholic HS I would have laughed and said you were crazy. Life's funny that way, but we need to roll with it and not let it roll over us. Values are definitely taught at home, but our schools have them for so much time and for so many years. He was in the public school for 2 years of middle school and in just those 2 years we saw his grades slip as well as his manners. 2 years was enough. We agonized about which school to pick for months. We took tours and listened to the principals speeches and finally chose this school. Thank goodness it worked out. But we are lucky enough to be in a place where we can do these things for our kids. Too many can't for monetary reasons. It's a shame where the public schools have gone.

I do the occasional school bus driving for a local Christian school. The students are so polite. All ages. At the end of a trip the older students thank me as they get off the bus. The younger ones are reminded to thank me. There's no picking on kids. Doesn't matter color, race etc.

I wasn't talking about one skin color either. Seems as though I saw all different kinds of faces. I'm just saying this PC or liberal [ whatever name you want it to be] crap needs to stop. Even as wild as the 60s were this would not have gone on for very long. But, I've just realized we don't need to be concerned. These are now just competitions between these schools to see which can get more press. No more reason to be concerned.

The likes of Facebook, twitter, instagram and the like. Set up the protest at the college, attend the protest at the college, post it on facebook and claim your 15 seconds of fame for the day. You now look trendy and in with the crowd. Any excuse will do. The sillier and childish the better.

if this school was so offensive to these students, why did they attend Princeton?
All of the Wilson namings were already in place before these students arrived. They were there when these students went on tours of the campus and in any Princeton University material they received in the mail. Nobody twisted the arms of these students to attend Princeton, even Mrs.Obama is a Princeton grad.

This is the dumdest thing I have heard, what the hell, I can't believe what is happening to this country, and yes since Obama has been in office the devide of blacks and whites has gotten bigger. What if the white students said "we want a white only section" !!! I'm so tired of this bull crap. I was born and rased in a all white town in Kentucky, I went to Western Kentucky U, it was the first time I got to be around blacks and I had many black friends, and I learned alot. I didn't see them as blacks I saw them as my friends. That is what goiong to collage is about, you meet different people and make friends for life.
It just pains me so when I see and hear the Mayor of Baltimore say "we need to give them room to be distrctive" that comes from a leader, not of just black people but of everyone that lives in that town.
Things are getting bad and they are going to get worst before they get better.
I wish I had a answer, but I don't......

"OOhhhhh,,,, Princeton grad, class of 2016? Yeaa,,, we don't have a job here you're qualified for". Close it down, send em home with a note pinned to their shirt stating they need another University in the fall. AND, The credits accumulated thus far are null and void. I think they should just expel these kids and then they can be in any group they want. Fact is, they chose to go to school here. No responsibility for your own decisions. That is what we are teaching when we let them get away with this crap.

Can't imagine white students staging a sit in at a black university can you?
One of their demands is a separate area on campus for black students only. Better yet, white students at a black (or any) university protesting for a separate area for white students only? They would be labeled as "Racists" in a heartbeat! Why then is not the opposite true?

So I was interested in something. If anyone watched the video from the news page, there is a young lady with a shirt on that reads "Assata Taught Me" and I searched it, well here is the answer to that question. http://www.westernjournalism.com/what-assata-taught-me/Apparently it is a another protest for Black Lives, based on a woman who murdered a NJ State Trooper over 40 years ago Seems to me that Chesimard [sp] has been hiding in Cuba for 40+ years and was about to be allowed to return with our new relations with that country. No statute of limitations on murder, come on back. Haven't heard any more about this. Cuba would not allow her to be extradited. Don't know what the status is now.

Because anyone other than white can not be rascist. White people the only race you can legally discriminate against. Oh yes, the old white man. We have been discriminated on greatly. Depends on one's own personal experiences. Growing up in NYC, I experienced racism and bigotry first hand. I was picked on by groups of black kids just because I was white. I was 11 or 12, what could I have possibley done to them? As a teenager I was called "White Boy" where ever I played basketball. Even waiting in line at McDonalds I was called a string of derogatory racial names because I didn't move up when the rest of the line did. As and adult, living in the Bronx, I was called racial names by young black kids as I rode my bicycle. And being Jewish, I've heard EVERY nasty, disgusting, derogatory, anti-semitic thing invented, my whole life, by people who knew I was Jewish and those who had no clew. And now, as an adult with children of my own, black children as a matter of fact, I've been called racist because I disagree with a political view or with the president.

There have been instances. Affirmative action? Let's make up for discrimination against a group of people by discriminating against a completely different group that was not responsible for the original discrimination. Oh yeah, and while we're at it let's let the beneficiaries of this new discrimination be people other than those who were victims of the original discrimination. Yeah, makes sense to me.

Bring back the draft. Those that don't wanna do Military service will flee to Canada. Those that fled to Canada when they try to return-revoke their American citizenship. RIDE SAFE.
