"Last year, Anderson was among four USS Arizona survivors who traveled to Pearl Harbor for an official survivor gathering of the USS Arizona Reunion Association. "

"Some of Anderson's ashes will reportedly be interred in the No. 4 turret on the USS Arizona. The bodies of some 900 men remain entombed in the ship's sunken hull."

By God, Sir, By God.
Wouldn't it be something if she ran out of oil and quit releasing "Arizona Tears" now that the last man is home?

"Cactus Jack" sounds like quite the person. Can't imagine what it would have been for him to lose your twin brother on the ship. Thanks for the post  cooldude

Wouldn't that be nice. Spooky, but nice.

We keep losing those of the Greatest Generation every day. Sad. I've enjoyed talking with some.

We ARE losing "The Greatest Generation" at a rather alarming rate. BUT if a young man or young woman was 16 or 17 in 1945 and got accepted into a Military branch they are 86 or 87 years of age now. At the most recent Veterans Day ceremonies I attended 3 WWII Veterans were in attendance. All 3 too a MAN were wheel chair bound-BUT no less proud. Mr. Anderson-FAIR WINDS and FOLLOWING SEAS And-Thank you for Your Service Sir. RIDE SAFE.

The article was kind of confusing. But I think there are still 7 more living. He was the oldest of the group.
