Man I read the tech section everyday either to get some help or try to learn something and I'm telling you these have to be the best bikes on the road hands down,I've never enjoyed riding as much as I am now ever since I got a Valkyrie, I always enjoyed riding but not as much as I do now,the reliability,performance,the looks, man are we lucky to own one or what,ride on brothers and thanks for all the help,oh yeah just one problem with the Valkyrie, getting to the air filter,what were they thinking.

Really? Never found it difficult. Lift tank and move to one side with a wood wedge under it. Short stubby screwdriver to remove the screws. Hey presto lift the air filter out and clean or replace depending upon type.

If you think changing the air filter on a Valkyrie is hard you should try it on a Goldwing or F6B.

I have always said that one of the greatest things about this club is the wealth of information and knowledge that can be gained from the tech board.
I've never had a problem that someone couldn't help me solve.
Also, the tutorials have let me do alot of repairs/maintenance that I wouldn't have tried to do on my own.

Don't know WHO said it first-if yer fortunate enough to own a Valkyrie you are fortunate enough.  Every time I go into Phatt Ghurls cave I KNOW how fortunate I are.  THAT feeing comes on strong when I throw a leg over crank er up and snick her into gear let the clutch out and try to twist the throttle off!  I seem too like it a bunch when I launch in first gear and she goes a little sideways on dry pavement.  I also LIKE how quick It gets to triple digits. Fortunate-hell I'm OVERJOYED!  RIDE SAFE.

As I was riding saturday the odo rolled by 2104mi,that's what it read when I rolled her out of dealer's lot in Nov.of 2004.All I could think was how blessed I've been to ride 100,000 miles on a machine like this. What really suprizes me is that when I tucked her in after that ride I'm already looking foward to the next time. I've never kept any of my other bikes for this long and have no plans of ever selling this one.

Exzactly!!! When my clutch plate went out, this board helped my fix it. When the crap corn gas hit, this board showed me the way to repair. Can't imagine how long and expensive those fixes would have been w\o the collective knowledge this board, and it's members gave up.

Yeah, between Shoptalk, the Tech Board and help/advice of our members, I put over 100k on two Valks(combined)and I always did my own work cept one time I had a tire change on a trip. I kinda felt sorry for my dealership's Service Dept as they never got any money out of me for service.

I don't know what it is about these Valkyries but I'm 58 and have been riding and racing since I was 8, always been a Harley tech but like that one guy said after every ride after I put her down I can't wait to get back on her, always on my mind cleaning or trying to put another gadget on , I'm assessed with this bike.And the Valkyrie people are sure friendly too.

Out riding in the country I stopped into a store/gas stop to get gas and inside the store was an older man farmer looking guy with a straw in his mouth. He asked " does that bike have a car motor"? I said "no it doesnt". He said " well..it looks like a car motor" , I told him again "no it isnt a car motor it is a honda motor" . He said " well..it sure looks like a car motor are you sure it doesnt have a car motor" ? I said " YES it doesnt have a car motor it looks like one but it isnt" .This went on for five more minutes,..I dont think I covinced him it wasnt a car motor. I LOVE my Valk !

Tell you one of the things I have really come to appreciate--I still own an '89 1100 Shadow. Great bike and was my return to riding after 43 years. Of course I found a good forum, like we have here, but in the time Honda has been producing the Shadow type cruiser, they have churned out so many variations, few use the same parts or have the same problems. With the 1500 Valk, you have either a Standard, Tourer or Interstate. Period. Most of the engine parts are the same. Most of the advice applies to all three. Can't even imagine what it must be like on the Harley forums.
