Nice find Rams. Saw out takes from this gentleman on Fox yesterday. He used a new term (new to me anyway) that really and simply sums up what is going on on college campus. Ideological Fascism. Chuck

Yes! I wholeheartedly agree! However, at the same time just because people should have thicker skin, we shouldn't be sharpening our swords.

Great quote from another forum on a similar topic. If you're that anally retentive at least get some use out of it and shove some coal up your ass so you could make some money off the diamonds you'll produce.

Then what we should do, is get on our knees, and kiss their pearly white asses. This is a generation of candy asses and cry babies, seem to becoming sociopaths. Think back a couple ears ago, if you recall on the national news. They had a report, about people in the young generation that didn't like their raises or review, so they told their parents, the parent got involved, and negotiated with the HR of the company, in their child's behalf. Its no joke it really happens, where do you think that mind set came from? I on the most part, I think TV is nothing but trash, but I still watch it. The closest thing on TV to what is real, or even the truth is the court TV circus, but its true! I watch the proceedings, but I am not interested in there complaint, I am interested in how they act, what they demand, and what they feel they are entitled to. And how they respond and demand is unreal, but these are real people with real cases. Trust me there are a whole lot of pitiful people in our young generation. But don't get me wrong there are allot of good kids out there, but I think they are being overcome by the butt heads. Just my opinion! We got to open your eyes and see.

I'd like to know just when the wheels fell off. I don't remember any of this STUFF going on when I was young and the Greatest Generation was in charge of our country. Sure seems to me that we, the baby boomers, started this mess. What do they call our kids ? Millenniums ? They seem to be improving on the tradition. Maybe I'm all wrong, what the heck do I know. I find myself shaking my head more and more and ordering another drink.

Many kids, not all, don't have the same values we were taught. We were taught, discipline, honor, respect, courtesy and compassion are a few. All us old buzzard piss each other off from time to time, but if needed help, would drop everything and figure out some way to help. New generation, just might just walk over you warm body. But don't get me wrong, Again there are good kids out there, the bad ones are the results of the parenting of the child. And they don't come from bad neighborhood and bad family environment. The parent never taught them to be responsible for their actions.

I'd like to know just when the wheels fell off.
I'll take a shot at it, what say y'all, right around here......
Mary had a little lamb, His fleece was white as snow. And everywhere that Mary went, The Lamb was sure to go.
He followed her to school each day, T'wasn't even in the rule. It made the children laugh and play, To have a Lamb at school.
And then the rules all changed one day, Illegal it became; To bring the Lamb of God to school, Or even speak His Name.
Every day got worse and worse, And days turned into years. Instead of hearing children laugh, We heard gun shots and tears.
What must we do to stop the crime, That's in our schools today? Let's let the Lamb come back to school, And teach our kids to pray!

Seems like every generation gets dumber. Look at who's running the country now and think about who is going to be running it in the next 10 -20 years. I won't be here but my grand kids will if we have a USA at all.

I'd like to know just when the wheels fell off.
The wheels didn't just fall off, the bearings blew apart due to a lack of maintenance. We ignored all the signs and just let it happen. I sincerely believe it was my generation at fault, we (for the most part) didn't teach our kids to be responsible for their own actions, we didn't teach them to stand on their own two feet and to expect to see the world through rose colored glasses. Life is a challenge, learn to deal with it.

agree with ya'll for sure... i think we are living in the time/generation described in 2 Tim 3:1-5
this generation is so narcissistic and self-absorbed in so many ways...no accountability to any higher power...just accountable to themselves

I think the first thing one has to do is understand what the generation gap it!! Back when I was taking classes, the had a video, I think it was called the Massy tapes, by Morris Massey, a psychologist. Basically, he explains what makes us tick, What I got out of it was, defining the generation, and understanding it, and why it exists. What I thought it boiled down to, was the parents wanted to give their children, what they didn't have, and basically planted the seed for self absorbance, you owe me attitude. Went your children don't experience the pain and the let downs in life, they think, these problems don't exist and may become self destructive or sociopaths of a form. Take bulling for example, it is a fact of life! It prepares one for dealing with future life issues. Its one of those things, that you have to settle it like a wood chipper, rather than a kind word. But parents cuddle the children, and don't let them get exposed and deal with it. So not knowing how to deal with it, they either get into substance abuse, suicide or do violent acts on others. All because the parents were over protective. I was bullied in school, like I said, you go in like wood chipper, whether you win the fight or not, you win in the end, the leave you alone.

Yep, I think all parents want more for their kids than they had. At least, most parents do or should. And yep, thats far different than having to coddle these kids. Parents just don't seem to want to teach kids how to deal with adversity. That doesn't make sense to me or probably most of us. That said most of the kids I know today are great kids and come from a good household. But, some kids are just plain clueless.

Far as clueless, well I kind of agree, Ignorance the act of not knowing and is a natural fact, Stupidity is the act of not caring, and it is by choice. When we were kids, when the sun came up, we were gone, when the street lights came on we made it home. Right basically! One of my greatest inspirations from TV was, "The Little Rascals" or "Spankey and Our Gang" the attraction to me was, how creative they were, I know they were actors, but the script writers were right on the mark. They weren't violent, but they were mischievous. My point is, this is what gave me the drive to be creative, adventurous, dealing with realities, and learning to over come them. Many kids today bury themselves in computers, tablets and cellphones, and really deal with the every day simple problems, and tend to get overwhelmed with simple issues. They are not as resilient as we were, and live in their fragile world that their parents created for them. The thing now is, how do we correct it ???

Parents need to quit trying to be their kids friends and be their parents. Direct, teach and show them the way to be an adult, have respect and cherish their friends and family. I't wasn't us baby boomers that did this is was the generation after us that started this. Hell, there are kids with kids all over society. These kids aren't old enough to have a grip on anything but they have a grip on sex. I disagree that it was us "baby boomers". We were still brought up to have respect because we were actively disciplined by our parents. Anyone of you boomers think you could tell your folks no or go to hell and have any teeth?? Discipline is a thing of the past and that is where all this starts, in the home. The schools have preached and taught the kids that a parent cannot strike them or the parents can go to jail. Horse hockey! It is not against the law to spank your kids. You can't beat them but you can spank them.

My parents spanked me, they didn't beat me, they just hurt my pride. Mom had a paddle, on it, it said, "Never spank a child in their face, Nature provides a better place". Now School!! If I had a dime for every time I got the paddle, I could have retired a long time ago, but I deserved it. I was clowning around, so I got it, But begged my teacher not to call my parents. Sound familiar! I was just a tad bit hyper.

My neighbors would whack ya if you screwed up. Then when you got home you would get again. A phone call was made explaining how and why it happened before you even got home. I never heard "wait till your dad gets home". My mother would wear the belt out on your tuppy. I never feared my parents, I respected them and in no way would I disrespect them or any adult for that matter.

Back in our day, when you got grounded, you got grounded, no phone, no TV, no radio, no computers, no cell phones, you had nothing. You either read a book, look out the window, stair at the walls, or talk to yourself. There were no locking of doors, or room of any sort. Went your parent said, "see that line, you don't cross it" You didn't cross it, till they told you, you could. That simple!!!

looking back, for me I noticed in the early 80's when they began editing "stuff" from Warner Bro's cartoons that were too "violent" for young viewers. then they moved in the PC era and scientific labels began being applied to everything to help curb offending people and sensitivity training was established in the media. For me, I think the first word was "retarded" that couldn't be used anymore.
