My father a retired navy veteran of WW2 passed away this morning at the ripe young age of 89. A husband of 65 years and father of 8 children. I am sure he is with his family as he was the last one.
God speed dad and thank you for all you tried to teach me. I only pray I turned out to be half the man you were.
           I love you dad.

D,
My sincerest condolences.  Celebrate his life, his passing is part of the circle of life but, what he did while he was with us is what is most important.

My sympathies for your loss.  Sounds like he was born the same year as my father.  Mine has been gone for a few years and I know it was hard for me.

My gratitude for what he did, both in the service of his country and in raising his eight children.
