My heated gear stayed on all the time, even when the controller was off, on Mac's
ride... needless to say, I didn't use it, full blast is murder.

I called up the manufacturer and told them, they said, "you dolt, you wired it up
reverse polarity"...

I got the chance today to check... I have a PDM60 circuit breaker, so there's no
fuse on either leg of the heated gear plug, I didn't know which leg was hot and
which was ground, so I just swapped them.

Bingo! It works  cooldude

Hal - I put the button you loaned me in the black bike's saddlebags, it is most
likely I'll be on the black bike next time I see you, thanks for helping me out  Smiley ...

Hmmm. Seems I remember another guy that did the same thing. He said it was quite a baffling thing to figure out. After checking everything he was nearly ready to spend some bucks for a new controller then came the DOH!!! moment. I will not post his name as it could hurt his feelings...  uglystupid2 uglystupid2  Wink

Mine was wired up right, but I made the mistake of putting the controller on my belt, where I could not reach it with my heavy jacket and winter boxing gloves.

It was perfect idling in the driveway, but a few miles down the road at 55-60 mph, it tried to burn my nipples off, and I just ripped the wires out of their plugs.  I had followed the instructions to only wear a long sleeve T under the jacket liner.

I haven't ridden much since Mac's ride... yesterday I fixed my controller wiring and rode the Red
bike a while (can't let it gum up)...

Today I washed Chewie and rode some local roads and found a couple of twisty country
roads I haven't ridden...  cooldude

One day I'll get a smart phone just for the camera...

Chewie's rear tire isn't bald, it is almost to the wear bar... it might have ended up bald
or worse if I had taken it on Mac's ride, but I can ride it some more... it might make
it to 5,000 miles...

I have a new Pirelli Angel GT Spec A tire to put on there, and a new stiff aluminum Sears
jack, maybe over the Christmas break...
