I noticed a lot of flags at half staff.  I suspected why and bothered to confirm that it is to honor the victims of the Bernadino shootings.

I have very mixed emotions about this.  I do have sympathy for those victimized by the crazed couple but doesn't a national state of mourning fulfill the objectives of terrorism?  Honestly, even though it was horrific, those were not even close to the majority of people who died unexpectedly this past week.  More likely died on the nation's roadways.  I guess I should look that up before I commit to it.

Our national attention needs to be focused on this incident to address avoidance and proper punitive and protective response.  Addressing the nation's sense of mourning on this incident increases the impact of what these crazies were able to accomplish.

I'm still processing this but my initial reaction is that I don't like buying into participating in the murderers' intended result.

I don't fly the Flag in winter, the bracket won't take it, but if i did, I might fly it at half staff, not because of the victims but because of what this nation has become under the present POTUS.

Yes, i feel very strongly about this.

I agree with you Carl.

We need to fly more of them, and at full staff.

In Iowa, Flags are at Half Staff to Honor those lost at Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941. All weekend too.

Wouldn't flying it upside down be more fitting?

And remember, Chris Christie (Gov NJ) lowered flags half staff for Whitney Houston's death.

I've processed all I need to process.   It's time to develop some spine and take action.
For every American killed, I'd take out a ISIL strong hold.

For every incursion or attack, I'd be merciless in taking out the enemy.   No holds barred.
I've had enough.
