Sad A few have asked about my bike as I'm selling things on the classifieds.  I was rear ended on I-75 on Labor day in central Kentucky. Stop and go traffic, I stopped the guy behind me needed 3-4 more feet.  No injury to me, rear of the bike was trashed. It was still driveable and made it home to Indiana but the rear was really starting to talk to me.  After a protracted fight with American Modern Home insurance I finally accepted their offer and was able to take off some of the more valuable accessories. Everything behind the seat was trashed.  They finally paid me Thanksgiving week and picked up the bike this past Thursday.   I will reiterate what Britman said about American Modern Home motorcyle insurance.  Immediately find another company if you are using them.. They low ball, don't return calls for weeks and were the worse experience I've ever been trhough on a claim. Unless your policy specifically states that your accessories and extra chromage are covered at replacement value then plan on only pennies on the dollar for their true worth.  I'm going to sit on the claim check and shop for a bike over the next several months.  Hopefully I can find a good replacement. Looking at the 2014 or newer Ultra classic's .. Ride safe and happy holidays everyone..  cooldude

If my brain is correct you can claim the depreciation on the low ball accessories if you buy new ones for a new bike. Of course they have to be the same accessory.

My, ha ha, agent has never replied to me as to why I was never told about an accessory rider so as to be paid full value.

Sorry to hear this Brian.  Glad you are OK.  Everyone knows the Blue/Silver combo was the fastest.

Good luck on your hunt for a new bike.  On my second Harley since I sold my Valk Interstate.  Would still have the first one if not for an accident.

Sorry to hear about your bike but even more sorry to hear you are thinking about replacing with a V-Twinkie. Better get out your Pirate Garb to go with it!  laugh
