Well, Its been just over a year since I added hardbags to the standard.  I made the mounts out of plywood and some thought it wasn't a good idea.  So far its held up.  Been in a few rains including a hard hard rain during a PGR run that dropped 12 inches of rain on us in 4 hours.  After that rain I took the bags off to grease the rear splines and there was no water seepage anywhere, the painted wood looked as good as the day I put it on.  I have been grocery shopping many times filling the bags to capacity and they are solid.  So, I have declared it a success.  

I really like these bags.
