I really liked the looks of my fairing, a Valkyrie specific Hoppe fairing... After I'd had it on there for a few years, I had it off for a few rides... I liked the ride much better with it off... it is gone now... -Mike "its not just the looks..."

Looks like there is a dealer down here in Florida that is selling three Valks (for big money) however one has one like Mikes On it. Maybe some one can buy just the wing from the dealer? They are hard to find, yes? https://tampa.craigslist.org/hil/mcd/5347030562.html

Sorry Larue for the hijack Back to the thread. I always thought Honda did a great job with the Tourer Windshield. It just looks cool to me. But I think you are a Batwing dude.

It depends on the application and what you desire. I've seen both that look great. Do you want clean and stock with great wind protection, or custom and stereo stuff? If you go custom please paint it to match. IMHO Nothing beats the looks and function of the Interstate fairing. (SuperValk)

(SuperValk) I have a supervalk interstate already and my tourer as you know has a batwing and I also still have the oem shovel which is a classic retro great looks and protection, I guess do I need 2 fairings in my garage lol

Think about the kind of riding you do... long/short, cold, rain, and the biggie, do you want music? If you carry a passenger often, she may get better protection with a fairing, if you don't run a shorty shield on it.
Which serves you better?
I like the looks of the economical Memphis Shades fairing (with tallest shield) from the outside, but not so much from the inside (and no music or storage). I also like the big OE shield (or clearview replacement if you have the hardware). If you want music and a finished inside, a Woodies or some such is tops.
Oh, does the place/doorway where the bike sits have the room for the wider fairing? That would be an aw crap moment. It's the widest part of an interstate.

I have both and I switch back and forth.
I lean to the bat-wing for the look but for long distance the windshield. I feel the windshield provides better protection ..... at least in comparison to my fairing.

I agree. My shield did better in rain but my b'wing does better in cutting the wind.

So my vote is for the batwing look. Stopped off in Blair, the witch was not home. Mike ( Lakehunter )
