M.A.S.H.  Dragnet
He was 96

I thought he was old when he was on Dragnet

Now I am older than he was when he was on that show

Of all the roles that he had in movies and TV, for me one stands out; The Shootist when he said "What I'll do on your grave won't pass for flowers"

Still I enjoyed his acting especially in MASH

My lifelong friend I grew up with moved to LA and married into his (extended) family.  Went out to be his best man in '75, attended the absolutely wildest bachelor party you could ever imagine, and met him at the wedding.  What you see is what you get; a very nice fellow.

The owner of the home where the bachelor party was held was also part of his family and a serving Santa Monica district court judge.  He was not only gone, but several states away.  Entertainment included, but was not limited to a Hustler centerfold with multiple sets of clothes (gowns/gloves/Victoria's Secret).  It took me three days to sober up and longer for the smile to leave my face.  (I had entirely forgotten about that, thanks for the reminder)
