I'm new to this version and this hasn't happened to me before on previous versions.
I have phantom lines they come and go based on zoom, but they are driving me batty.
Any biker autocad help?

This maybe? (I haven't used Autocad since the late 1980's, this is just something I googled up)

type in “3DCONFIG” and turn off HARDWARE ACCELERATION

It's not the mouse trails that is a problem with graphics cards. If I choose a different "visual style control" they go away, but then some of my lines are not visible.

I don't use Autocad much, but it sounds like your graphics card doesn't have enough memory (common on laptops). Try changing the rendering settings.

But... If I save the drawing, close it, reopen it, they are still there. It's not like cursor trails, it appears it is in the drawing. Never had that problem with 2010. Maybe it's a graphics problem, but it doesn't seem like it to me.

Ya, blame your video card first.  Any update in CAD software brings higher demands in video hardware.  Check the specs on the version you are using and compare them to your hardware's abilities.

Update your video drivers pronto and start from there.  If you are using Intel integrated graphics...sorry, almost all the new CAD software demands better; turn off hardware acceleration.
