2 years ago today, Carolyn Schmidt gave Psycho (Michael) a most precious gift... a gift of life. We are thankful every day for her selfless act of kindness.

Indeed, due to the unselfish and courageous act of Carolyn, there will be a special bond forever between them. I couldn't be happier that it's worked out so well for Michael also.

She is indeed an angel and among my closest of friends. She is also a saint, having to live with that husband of hers. Pat and Carolyn are both good people and its inspiring to see good people helping good people. Something that never would have happened, a connection that would never had been made without this club. Your free to think what you like, I think its a GOD thing. Glad your still above ground Michael! Looking forward to spending time with you at InZane.

It's hard to reduce to mere words just how inspirational this story has been... It blows me away! Dave said it correctly, something that never would have happened without this club... and the caliber of folks it has drawn into the family. I'm mighty proud to just be part of such a wonderful group. Carolyn should have a statue erected in her honor!!! Heck, I'd even vote to have her added to Mt. Rushmore...

I'm glad that was posted to remind us AND let the new members know what is so special about the VRCC members. What Carolyn did was 'way beyond!
It also reminds me in a much different way, the gift and relay of Highlander's truck, the Scooter guy, and DDT's Valk. I could go on and mention the special services at Inzane for the loss of a member, and more.

Hi VRCC family,
What I did for Michael was definitely a God thing. From us even knowing each other in the first place, to the conversation wondering if I was compatible, the journey to the decision (which was a God story all on it's own), to medical testing, the surgery, recovery and then Michael's bumps along the way. Cool thing is the kidney has never shown signs of rejection.
Thank you all for your love and support. This as we all know is no ordinary club; we're family.
Love and blessings, Carolyn

Are you an organ, tissue and eye donor for your state? Did you know one person can save or enhance the lives of up to 75 people. The # of people waiting for organs in the US would overflow the University of Michigan football stadium. It's the biggest in the country. Will seat over 109,000.

This is a great story! The level of selflessness that some people in this club rise to is beyond awesome. The VRCC as a whole often show a great care and respect for others but some take it an extra mile.
