Well, when it comes to assault rifles, I don't don't have a problem with registration or some restrictions. But, who really has assault rifles. I see a whole lot a semi-auto faux assault rifles. But, I don't hear of real assault rifles being used for illegal purposes.

The term 'assault rifle' originally was 'thought up' by the media and the pols picked up on it.
An assault rifle's true definition is a weapon capable of fully automatic fire. Hence, an AR15 is not, an M16 is, an M1 Garand was not, a M2 carbine was, an SKS was not, an AK47 both no and yes. I'm sure there are those that would split hairs.
The Dems in Georgia are showing their true stripes (just like a skunk) they want guns in private citizen's hands GONE. That proposed legislation leaves no doubts.

I understand what you're getting at... but "faux" assault rifles are already the only thing you can buy without a license and/or registration. But my real point... 2nd amendment makes NO distinction to how powerful or how many rounds these "arms" are allowed to be. That makes ANY restriction to ownership (gun or ammo related) illegal. ALL of these laws spit in the face of the second amendment.

This is why dems need to be defeaded at the local level. They will move up to state or federal level and this is what you] will get.

She is delusional enough to think her bill would STOP all criminals from getting weapons.
Wants to have a meaningful dialog - code for first step to banning.
Georgia Tech College is a completely gun free zone. Educational and dorms etc. this means some of the public street that run through the campus are gun free zones.
At least once a week there is a news report of a student getting robbed at gunpoint ON CAMPUS.
Those naughty bad guys not obeying the rules. If only they would we could all be safe and happy. Idiots.

My question is.... is there any chance such a bill could pass (let alone get out of conference) in GA?
My governor (VA) would love and sign anything like this, but no chance in our State assembly (so far).
Whenever I read BS like this (in good states) it makes me wonder if they really think there is a chance, or are they just stirring up crap, getting their name and picture in the paper, and firing up their base (the free crap army) for upcoming elections. The bad states are already lost.
I also think any politician who made an oath of office to the constitution that proposes things like this should be convicted of treason and stood against a wall. I know, I'm delusional. But it is a happy delusion.

I agree with Wayne on the definition but if something like this passes the next guy will say that isn't good enough. Look any rifle used in an assault IS an assault Rifle ( single shot or fully automatic). Did you read where she said that an assault rifle was only used to kill a whole lot of people quick. Demi's just showing their true colors.

They have a very slight chance of passing the law and a whole lot less chance of having anyone in Georgia obey it.
Very little dumber and more stupid than a politician. They should not be let out without a handler.

Demi's just showing their true colors. What other possible reason could they be used for? <sarcasm The idiots that sponsor this crap, have never contemplated a situation where a person is defending his home and family from multiple assailants, especially if they are armed with automatic weapons. They grudgingly concede that that pesky 2nd amendment, does secure our right to bear arms for protection, but of course the only scenarios that come to mind for them are you, being attacked by one of their supporters, that they have conditioned to believe is entitled to your stuff, who would only do such a thing while armed with a legal weapon. Never any thing like this: https://youtu.be/DuhKCiY-lu0

If they want my guns, they had better bring theirs! I guess Georgia wants its citizens to rise up and overthrow their government.
