Nice find Patrick.  Short little synopsis that explains a bunch.  Last weekend during one of the football games History Channel was running there great series How the Earth was Made.  I peaked in during commercial breaks and more especially the one of the age of Ice Ages ( Pleistocene Age ) for past 2 1/2 million years.  They do not know what has caused this age let alone can figure out what will happen.

I say clean up the pollution sensibly and without the International bankers cashing in with this Carbon Credits Scheme and pray that we get a little more warmth anyway.  It is always nicer with warmer winters.  Just my OP

That was a great video.  And, from the co-founder of Greenpeace!  I'd add that during the most recent warm periods he mentioned (Roman and Medieval) civilizations thrived, while they struggled during the cooler periods like the Little Ice Age.  That's rarely mentioned.

He's got some really good speeches on YouTube. Search Patrick Moore.

Very good point and one that is never discussed by the climate change fanatics.  The series about the Little Ice Age  brought this out.  People in Europe struggled mightily during the colder periods and was one of the big factors that led to the dark ages, due to famine and shortage of food,  Warmer periods means longer growing seasons, more land at the higher latitudes that can grow crops.  Humans can spend more time creating economic useful endeavors rather than devoting time to keeping warm, although this has been lessened now due to technology.

I've been trying to tell the gorebal warming crowd about weather history for a long time, so, its about time folks are talking about the realities of weather.

This country felt the effects of the little ice age, thousands died in the years around 1815-16 which are called the years without summer. Crops failed, folks starved. We are still feeling its effects, we're still coming out of it. The Little Ice Age came about quickly, temps dropped an average of 12ºF within 10-20 years. Prior to that the temps were an average of 8ºF warmer than today and here the 'experts' are trying to tell us that 2ºF would be devastating.

This has been talked about here in the recent past and of course some scoffed. There is a lot of info regarding this.

But, of course, climate change is our biggest threat. We are told that just about daily. Heck, its more of a threat than isis.  Undecided

But, I digress as usual. This is subject I've looked into for decades.

While he may not have mentioned this I've heard the word applied to weather changes and climate changes as-cyclical. And like he said-Not even our most powerful computers and our most learned minds know WHY this is happening. But that smug S O Bs at that recent climate change "summit" believe/think/hope that throwing cubic mounts of money will somehow "fix" what is not even UNDERSTOOD yet. Mother Nature is/can be an evil bitch. RIDE SAFE.

You are correct, there are many things we don't understand. But there are some that we do . Polluting our air, water, and land less can never be a bad thing. Really the rub is how we go about doing this.
