I think it qualifies... (Although sometimes we move into the realm of Anti-Social media Wink )

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_media

Quote
Social media are computer-mediated tools that allow people or companies to create, share, or exchange information, career interests, ideas, and pictures/videos in virtual communities and networks. Social media is defined as "a group of Internet-based applications that build on the ideological and technological foundations of Web 2.0, and that allow the creation and exchange of user-generated content.

Yes, this is social media...

It's all rooted in bulletin boards and usenet and character
cell stuff that's been around as long as computers
have had modems...

Now it is just fancier and more spacebooky...

Damn this saddens me.  Cry Does this mean I am just like all other humanoids on Facebook, Twitter, etc. ? I used to have visions of being the last person on earth to possess a cell phone. But those dreams were dashed, now only to find I am like my wife, daughter, and everyone else I have been making fun of.  tickedoff I am no longer unique, I am one of the collective.  ???

Unless you're my wife... Poor thing was born without a sense of humor...

Watched Holy Grail with her, she didn't even crack a smile through the entire thing. At the end said something to the effect of "There aren't enough drugs or alcohol on Earth that could make that crap funny."

Some of us are born with it; some of us marry into it.  The end result is about the same either way.

I tell folks there are two benefits to being hit in the head.  One is you can hide your own Easter eggs.  The other is that you can tell the same joke over and over again and it's just as funny every time.

My wife always replies in disgust, "Not to me it isn't."   Wink

Tried to get her to watch The Jerk with Steve Martin... She wouldn't even stay in the same room while it was on it was so "insulting" to her intelligence...

Poor thing...

My dad has the same gift, but he acquired his from having Encephalitis has a small child instead of being his on the head... End result is the same, I can tell him the same joke about every 2 weeks...
