So your bike has how many cylinders?

Universal City, TX

« on: January 24, 2016, 05:36:32 PM »

Well after 2 years of researching it; I dove in and went darkside.  Chose a Federal Formoza in 205/55.  Did the double bearing mod too. Ran into problems here and there but she fits and will be testing her throughout the week.  Hope I like it cause it looks real good on Valhalla.

I am glad the tales of fiery deaths didn't ward you off. Now you'll just have to figure out how to show it off. Oh and get yourself a VRCC Darkside Member #. And now that I said that I don't remember how to get a Darkside number. Anyone remember who to email?

Mine is a FD-1, rated 91V.  Sorry for the late response, but I've got a good excuse, honest....1100 miles on the tire now!

Can anyone tell me if a 195 60 16 will work on my 99 interstate, or will it rub on the fender. Just curious I'm looking to order tire off amazon but am at work and the bike is 207 miles away so it's a little hard to get measurements.I'd need an awful long tape measure. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, I'm currently using a Yokohama Avid Ascend 195/60. I think I've got 15k on it and like it very well.  cooldude

OK, I have almost 1500 miles on the tire now.  Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF) - damn good tire with a smooth ride.  Only negative I have had has been that it tracks in the ruts (construction of gravel/tar resurfaced roads), other than that, I find it far superior to my old motorcycle tire (Pirelli Night Dragon).  The wife says it is much smoother too when riding 2-up.  Had to do the nut cage mod on the right side, as it would rub when riding 2-up.  Looking at replacing the shocks now too.  Hope all this helps for anyone looking seriously at this tire.  It only cost about $100 on Amazon with free shipping!  Thinking already about ordering another one for the next tire swap, which at this rate, will be sometime late next year.
