hey all

got a question for ya about inzane awards

would someone still qualify for a riding award if they show up on a Goldwing

my valk is in Arizona I might pick up a new Goldwing on my way to West Virginia

so do ALL the miles have to be on a valk, or just show up, or what do you all think

No.  In past years the rider awards have been limited to those riding a Valkyrie.

We welcome riders of all motorcycles and even no motorcycle to participate but it is a Valkyrie riders' gathering.

What I've told you applies to past years.  One of the more senior staff members may make a decision otherwise but that is the way it's been.

Last year there were 4 Beemers there.  We had our own contest against the 4 of us, but was not included in the awards.  This is because our bikes were dual sports and not Valkyries.  We were fine with that, because, you see, we were there to see our Valkyrie brothers and sisters that we only get to see about once a year.
P.S.  if you want some PIE, you had better bring your A Game. Hehe

When are you riding down Dan,

I am not sure if leaving Sunday or Monday or if I am riding down with Dan  from Vernon NJ

You never know as he could go by way of key west or anywhere    Grin

Last year I only got to ride 2/3 of each way on the Valk, (Maxima for the last third) this year I hope to do it all on the Valk, and I expect to eat pie, just not on Thursday night  Cry

Expect ribbing if not on a Valk but you WILL be welcomed.

Most likely you will hear  OH $HIT ITS DAN   Then you know you are amonst friends

I agree that it is a Valkyrie Rally so we should keep awards to Valkyries, however, I believe there should be separate awards for the 1500s and the 1800s.  In recent years, for example, the low mileage award went to a new 1800.  If Dan were to pick up an 1800 Valkyrie on the way to Inzane, he'll have 150 miles on it and receive an award, but there may be 2002 1500 with 8,000 miles who gets no award.

Just a thought.

What about me?

I'd like to ride down Sunday.  I tentatively worked out a route if anyone is interested.

From Ardsley, NY it's about 400 miles.  Can take I95 or I287 (if picking up folks in NJ) to I78 and make first gas stop at about 100 miles or so near Bethlehem, PA.  Then I78 to I81 for about another 100 miles to the next stop for lunch in Carlisle, PA at a place called Redd's Smokehouse.  Then I81 to I68 for another 100 miles or so to next gas stop on I68 near Flintstone, MD.  Then another 100 miles to ground zero.

No hurry to beat sundown, probably no morning traffic leaving NY/NJ.  Can leave 9ish and easily arrive by 6ish.  Can meet for breakfast before if we hook up with anyone coming from north or east of us.

Make sure you add Ride-on to that new rear tire.
