I don't recall any of the other candidates demonstrating outright misogyny as did Mr. Trump. And who's to say that getting it out and putting it to rest in a forum that is clearly biased towards conservatives was much better than letting it simmer until the main stream media got a hold of it at a later date. Blaming Ms. Kelly for pointing out what Trump said and cornering him on it is a poor attempt at excusing him from his words.

Looks like Fox News is running scared. Bill O'Reilly was practically begging Trump to do the debate last night. In the end they might send Megyn Kelly up to the top of a Hawaiin volcano as a sacrificial lamb.

The ratings tonight will tell the tale. I expect them to be just as high even with Trump not there. I doubt Fox is running scared & I didn't interpret O'Reilly's interview to be "begging" Trump to do the debate. Trump's not the only horse at the starting gate. And we'll see next week how the good people of Iowa respond to Trump's childish lack of bravo to face those he thinks are "out to get him".

I don't see how they were gotcha questions. They were things he said about women. We are all responsible for what we say and do, even if you are rich.

Yes, they were things Mr. Trump had said.

But she took a bunch of them, strung them all together totally out of any context, claimed it was his "war on Women" and gave him, what, 60 seconds to answer for all of it on the spot?

Don't recall any similar or similarly toned questions to the rest of the group.

Yes, I know the others "didn't say those things". But the others are not alter boys either. I'm sure they have said and done regretful things or said things meant to be funny or things that would be easily taken out of context and misinterpreted. This was not pursued at all with the other candidates.

There did not seem to be the same approach used by Ms Kelly for Mr. Trump as the rest of the field.
Perhaps this is because he is the front runner and maybe the thought was that being the front runner allows for a different and more aggressive approach.

My perspective is that the question Ms. Kelly asked was far better suited to a one on one interview with the ample time given to answer such a question than to ask such a loaded question within a strict, and very short timeframe such as a debate.

[/quote]It should have taken him 5 seconds to answer the question. "I was wrong to say those things about those women and I apologize" Seems pretty simple to me, but evidently Trump sees apologies as weakness.

I know, an American who gave up his US citizenship in disgust with President Bush shouldn't be taken TOO seriously, but this from Terry Gilliam of Monty Python:

When Megyn rears her blondie head
He bravely turned his tail and fled
Yes, brave Sir Donald turned about
And making America great he chickened out

Definitely a perspective from some but, to quote another infamous politician, "What does it matter?"    cooldude
