Well I got out this morning and cleaned this bike up thinking I might take a overnight road trip this weekend after I mounted my newly painted saddlebags. Was heading out the door around 2:00 to swing by the bank and get the money for the paint job when I got a call from the painter He claims he dropped his airbrush last night and it will be next week before I can get my saddlebags. Every single painter I've ever hired has NEVER done what they say they will do. I've had a couple trucks and cars painted along with two motorcycles and its always the same ol' same ol' when dealing with a painter.

A guy said he was a good painter and would do my Corvette. He said he worked by himself so it would take a while. Six months later, it was still taking awhile.

that sure is a pretty bike.
I know what you mean when it comes to painters, most are quite eccentric when it comes to their work and time doesn't seem to exist in their shops.

I hope it's worth the extra wait and the bags look fantastic!

I'm getting a little ticked off as well. A kid in my daughters senior high school class backed into our 1 year old hyundai sonata back in mid December. I got it back 1600 in damages and paid for it (kid's personal check) and I inspected the paint job (dent was repaired fine) but the edging of the rear passenger door about 6" wide path was VERY rough and totally horrible. I pointed it out ASAP to the repair/body shop and said we will get it in to take care of it. Well, now over 1 month later and 2 lame excuses cancelling at the VERY last minute scheduled 2 appts. (one 5 minutes BEFORE I was ready to leave to drop the car off 2 days ago), is still NOT re-painted in that area. Needless to say NOT EVER going back to them EVER again. Screw me over for over 1 month after they screwed up the door edging on the paint job and won't be seeing me EVER again. I told them a 5 year old could have seen that the door edging was very rough, am sure they disliked that comment but they are the pros supposedly, not me. They have a lifetime warranty on total repairs, so going to for sure keep the repair order since not to my liking so far.
If their customer service contacts me back like they have done now 2x's telling them both times they cancelled appts. to fix it right since they screwed it up now way back in December. I will give them an earful as well and since a chain body repair shop, I am tempted to go elsewhere locally in same repair chain to get it done faster if they don't call me back by Friday to get it in for sure the following week.

Joe has OEM bags and rails. Jumbo Strongs are good, people have them on Valkyries and like them, I haven't seen anyone put rails on them. Look for discontinued Corbin side covers on eBay and the Classifieds here to get the other thing you're asking about, I think... -Mike

My friend Allan ( Punisher ) has them on his Standard turned Tourer.

thanks for the info on the bags. didnt realize how wide the oem bags where when looking at them from the back. as for the corbin side covers, if your friend has a price in mind shoot me a message. I am not up on internet lingo so I don't know what check the PM means. if that means check in the afternoon then I am reading way to much into it and chock it up to my stupidity. my wife makes fun of me all the time because I have no concept on the use of internet acronyms. LOL (she taught me that one). thanks
