It was almost 37 at 1230 today !!

Sunny

Just a fair bracing wind off the river when I came home from Shul
(that be jewish church for y'all   2funny )

Usually I will have some bourbon or scotch during the kiddush meal
(we take turns bringing bottles and a good buzz usually accompanies the meal- followed by a Saturday afternoon nap in my favorite chair with a good book)  afterward but I just kept thinking of how nice it looked outside and when I opened the garage door the Valkyrie  just, well it just looked like it needed to be ridden

Took 9A down the big hill and went south to the Hudson Valley motorcycle shop   Sat on the Kawasaki Versys 650 and 1100) and also the KTM and a vstrom    Had to say I liked the Kawa a lot with the adjustable windscreen the hand protectors the big side bags and the long travel suspension

Bought some cheap glove liners for my ancient Olympia Kevlar gloves and headed up 9 to the road along the river  Great breeze in my face coming from the north and I just decided  GOAT TRAIL and headed past Peekskill and up toward Bear mountain

At the scenic turn off I saw the only other motorcycle I would see all day.  The wind was pretty stiff at the top, stayed a few minutes looking for eagles but did not see them today.  They had more sense than me I suppose

Coming back down and south just past Peekskill a sports BMW sedan showed up in my mirror  I was doing 80  and moved right on the empty 2 lane, he blew by me at least 120  How do I know ?
Well I backed off at 110 and he was pulling away.   I settled in at the mid 80's and just left him go to get a speed appreciation award as he approached Croton on Harmon.

Coming up the big hill on 9A I was lucky enough to have a car waiting for the left turn signal so I did not have to run it

That was a great attitude adjustment for me and it looks like it will have to last a week or so as snow is forecast several times over the next 10 days

At least I got the cobwebs out today  No pics but some good memories

Oss did you guys get any snow yesterday? we got hit w/ another 5" beginning yesterday 6am.

it was a great day here too but w/ the slop, melt off and salt it wasn't an option which was disappointing because all last week it was nice. We had plenty of melt off and some rain to clean away the salt and I had a nice little 2-3 hour ride planned out for today too.

I've been dying to get out but I've got a bit of a haul just to get into my preferred riding areas, and at 40 degree or so high temp that really takes a bite out of me regardless of my heated gear.  With my vest turned up I can take it, but maybe I come to an age where I have decided to temper that desire.

For me the problem with the Goat Trail is the moronic other people, usually the cagers, on the road - the Goat Trail at the posted limit is great, at 15MPH because they're Oh So Scared of it, it becomes boring as h#ll.  I'd rather be up in Columbia county on the state and local roads than run the Goat Trail at 15.

Maybe try to get into the mood tomorrow, it'll hit a high of a warm 47!   Roll Eyes laugh

With my vest turned up I can take it

I'm so glad I ditched my vest and the associated wires running down my
arms to my gloves... a whole jacket liner with glove connectors right
at the end of the sleeves... and a controller with two buttons... suiting
up is no longer a hassle and riding in the 30s and 40s is comfortable...

The soft liner zips up until it is like a turtleneck...

Joe     Sabbath starts at sundown Friday evening, so yep Saturday is "church day"    cooldude

"and there was evening and morning..."  Bible says it was dark before there was light 1st day

I was serious if you want to borrow the Bushtec just let me know.
Life is too short to NOT take that trip you dream about,  Y'all can always try to make money later   We lose friends every year and it seems every year there is more goodbyes never said

Today is take care of the house stuff then cross the river to take care of mom day before returning and getting comfortable to watch the Bronco's try to hold the Panthers off.  Love watching good defenses and hope to see a good scoring game too.

Gig  good thing you and skinhead talked me into seeing that movie or I wouldnt know what the heck the joke was about

Yeah I try to be shomer shabbas but  F it lets go bowling    2funny 2funny

Hubcap no heated vest, just a good warm flannel shirt and the mesh jacket for that ride.  If it was gonna be an all day ride you bet that heated jacket liner would make any ride comfortably warm
