I am still in the hospital and taking it one day at a time.  Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers.  Each day, the doctor tells me,"not today, maybe tomorrow" and I am ok with that.  I am having a few challenges adjusting to eating food again.  I am on a full liquid diet right now and I am ok with taking it slow.  I surely don't want to mess anything up!

Thank you all for thinking of me!!
Its good to hear from you  cooldude I'm glad the doctors aren't trying to rush you out of there. Take care  Smiley

At lunchtime today I had been working the morning from my office in the house.   I thought for my lunch break I would go visit Mama at the medical facility.  Temperature outside was just above fifty degrees F.  Easy decision.  I go out Mama's machine.  Both of mine are in need of repair.  Today was the best day in many and the first since we put Mama in the 'spital some dozen days gone by.  When I arrived at the parking garage I could feel the smart phone going off in my pocket.  I parked the bike and then checked.

Mama had sent me a text that said, "I'm getting sprung today!"  Bad timing.  I could carry her home on the bike but that she had accumulated a myriad of things from her well wishing visitors.  I went up to the room.  I told her I would have to go home to get the transport vehicle and I needed to eat some lunch.  She said it wouldn't be an issue as they were estimating 15:00.

I arrived at about 15:10.  Here it is two hours later and we have arrived at home having stopped by the pharmacy and the grocery store.  The next stage of the adventure begins today.  She seems to move around okay but slowly.  We're expecting several days of recovery before she is anywhere near normal physically but at least she's home and out of the hospital environment.

The good news, Dr. Gary, is that when we visited the surgeon today he told her she could lift any load she wanted to and that he wants her to walk, walk, walk.  His approach is that getting off the pain meds and moving about a lot is the best road to recovery.

I like that doctor.   Wink

Getting off the pain meds is a good idea.  Last time I took them for a few days, I don't think I had a BM for 6 weeks.  At some point, solid concrete constipation is worse than the disease or injury that required the pills in the first place.  When Ron White asked the question... Did you ever have a BM so large, your pants fit better?... I was thinking, as a matter of fact, yes I have.

Glad she is doing better.
