I think I remember seeing a video of this guy doing this on dirt in the summer. Now he has upped his game a little.

I've done my share of MX and Cross Country but I was never even close to good enough to attempt that.

Look at the helmet in the right side of the frame. The helmet doesnt move at all away or towards the edge of the frame. Looks "photo shopped" to me.

The helmet doesn't move relative to the video because the camera is rigidly mounted to the helmet, making the helmet appear stationary while everything else is moving around in frame.

Something like this:

I understand that but you're telling me his head along with the camera never moved in relation to the rest of the frame?

Correct, his head basically IS the camera, thus the image is stable relative to the part of the helmet we see... The same situation is on all of these kinds of videos where part of the person's helmet is visible, such as:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m39yL3TYb-g

The "Red Bull" visor of the helmet in this one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HfOQV2L72I

Visor again instead of side of helmet, but same thing on this one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mwg9Pd2OAgQ

This guy has a selfie stick hanging off the front of the helmet which really shows off the effect (Although the flex of the selfie stick adds a LITTLE motion between the camera and the helmet)

I think the thing that is throwing you is unlike an average rider his focus stays on where he is wanting to go. I have a camera that I mount to my helmet on occasion and I'm looking all over the place without even realizing it.
Meathead - You owe me a new pair of underwear!  Shocked
2funny I had the opposite reaction. I was so puckered up not even a little fart could have escaped. But then I go commando anyway so I don't worry about my underwear  2funny

Yeah Dan, I remember your pics of the bears you were hanging with.  My opinion is, you were WAY too close.   Shocked

But this guy was just a wack job that got himself, his girl friend and ultimately, the bear, killed.  Sad

I remember one year a grizzly had killed a moose not 50 feet off the Hiway. Tourists were backed up forever watching, getting out of their cars, even walking out towards the kill to get a pic with the bear ! Finally they had to station a Trooper there to keep people from getting killed. I'm really surprised that sow let you get that close to her cubs. She must have sensed your Jersey attitude  2funny

firea100,
i use to think the same when i would see these types of videos...that they were faked...well last year i acquired a helmet mountable camera....that is the way it actually looks, yeah kind of freaky.
Serk explained it well, so i'm not going to try to elaborate any more because I would never get it right.

you guys should see me at the BMW rallys

I get the impression that I scare the stuff out of them

talk about being "out of place" they always assume I'm a Harley guy till they find out I ride further

NOT faster then most of them

getting off my valk to take that picture was in my opinion a defining moment for me

"never get out of the boat, not unless you're going all the way"

let it be said that I'm ready to go all the way

must be JERSEY, multiple sclerosis or both

2funny you know I've wondered about those BMW rally's you've been to before. Most of the BMW guys I've been around seem kind of stuffy and better than thou.  Smiley

stuffy and better than thou

true, that's my observation of the BMW scene also

I like teasing them.....OVER is the description I use

over powered over engineered over priced over packed over dressed over educated

I like being with the "masters of the universe" telling them ....yeah 44 retired NO brothers, sisters, wife, ex-wife, kids, house, mortgage, job, or bills. those guys while many made of money still have to {want to} get back to the rat race. I don't

ive got my own problems with multiple sclerosis but they don't need to know that

I LIKE bmw rallys because almost everyone rides and camps witch goldwingers and Harley guys DONT with them its one or the other

and you can SLEEP when you want to because the bikes are quiet

and many bmw guys ive met also have Hondas

the Goldwing is well respected {valks included}

they tried teasing me last year saying ...yeah we poured all the extra beer into the Goldwing {my valk} I go yeah and its still gonna start  Smiley....they cracked up , loved it

so yeah I give the bmw scene a thumbs up

try it some time
