Got close to $500 refund I carried forward, might need it for this year since I took a large chunk out of my IRA. This makes quite a few years in a row I've carried forward a refund, hate it when they want to tax my SS income but only about $3200 was taxable this year. Before I retired I used to figure my approx. tax impact at the beginning of the year and adjust my monthly deduction accordingly. Over a period of about 25 years, the most I ever had to pay with the filing was something like $125. I always wanted to come out as close to zero as possible, whether a refund or I owed. Now, I don't have anything coming out of my pension or SS, it's because I have to take a certain amount out of the IRA each year so I have them withhold enough to make up for it. So far it has worked out pretty good.
Just glad to have this out of the way, plenty of other stuff on my plate to worry about.
