February has been an unbelievable month temperature wise in Calgary. I believe that every day this month has been well above normal for this time of year and Friday was no different ......... +17C \ 63F in the city. Was cooler out of town due to there being quit a bit of snow sheltered in the trees so it was more like +10C \ 50F. It made for a great day to get out on the road for a few miles and head out for a burger and a beer. Nothing like having a fabulous view of the Rockies framed in a chinook arch for scenery!!  cooldude

My buddy Garry picked up a winter project, a Kawasaki Drifter that had a 3rd gear problem and then found a wrecked Vulcan and swapped out the engine\ tranny complete with wiring harness to the Drifter. So, we took it for a rip and it ran just fine.
The temperatures have definitely made for a shorter winter and it was great to get out for a ride!

Good on ya, man! Glad you're getting some time in the wind. No place like where you live for great riding... in weather like you're having, that is. Thanks for the pics and ride report. Any bumbleberry pie lately?

Not!

The model here is a 1500 ...... they also had an 800 model. The 800 had no visible rear shocks.

1500 looks good in my colors!  cooldude

considered a used 1500 drifter for a solo bike and ended up with the 1150rtp
My friend's wife picked up an 800 drifter to replace her 1100 intruder
and she loves it

The lure of ABS, the ability to douse my headlight when starting the bike after a Long winter nap and the run flats were the deciding factors for me  Plus when I flick the brights people move over  police

glad ya had a great day Terry

I was tempted as well this weekend 55 yesterday and near that today but much windier.

However,  still a lot of road salt and water runoff from the very few snow mounds we have left being 1-2 feet tall in spots is all.

This I can say, so far, has the been the least amount of snow (only 3 real snowfalls I recall needing shoveling)  this entire winter.  BUT, old man winter is not done yet, well maybe??

I see 50's, after this coming week being in the 30's again this week, in the forecast with rain showers to clear things up nicely.  Might be riding first time EVER in March, NOT first week in April.

Not taking the snow tires off just yet though, although only really needing them once all winter long a few days.
