another good reason I near always drive about 2-3 feet over from white line on right side of my lane when oncoming traffic is coming my way.

I would have been toast 1-2 years ago on my cycle just like this pic if I was that far over in the middle even in my lane with a car coming at me 3-4 feet over the center line.  head on collision 60 mph each, I would LOOSE that one. 

I see crazy, mostly HD riders,  ride the centerline in a group and I never, EVER unnderstood that missing oncoming traffic side mirrors by about 1-2 feet is all at most.
