Found this on Craigslist:

I decided to buy because I've gotten TOO old and TOO fat to shovel snow.

I was looking around on the internet after bringing it home and discovered that they made a lot of cool accessories for these.

Considering the age (1969-1971) I realize that it's a long shot, but I'd love to turn it into this:

If anyone knows where some of these attachments may be found for my new little toy, Please let me know.

I've heard a lot of good things about the old metal cub cadets... it is
sad to see the plastic ones down at the big box store...

I have had several kids come to my door asking if I wanted them to shovel my sidewalks, thought about it until they told me how much they wanted.    Takes about twenty minutes to shovel my side walks assuming it's a moderate snow fall.    I just can't see paying $80 an hour for manual labor.   So, I went out and bought a snow blower.

I have a 30 horse power kubota tractor with a bucket and a back blade. Having to get up at 5:15 in the morning I don't have time to do the 500 foot driveway myself so it's worth the 45 dollars to have it plowed. Time is money and my time is worth more than the cost. Driveway is done before we leave at 6:30 a.m. Perfect for us. Good luck on finding the parts you want and enjoy the solitude when playing in the snow.

A loader and a hoe are great things to have sitting around the house. They sure do save time and the back. I've become allergic to shovels and wheel barrows over the years.

I had a similar Cadet at one time. Didn't know there were such attachments for them. They certainly would be nice to find.

The last big snow that we had I kept hoping that some kid would come by and offer to shovel my driveway.

My back still hasn't forgiven me for shoveling all of that snow.

I hope we're done with the snow.

But if we're not at least I'm ready for it now.

Didn't think about a cup holder, but I am thinking about wiring up a connection for my Gerbings.

Looks like yours has wheel weights.
Backhoe, loader n'at looks like fun!   coolsmiley
I've only used mine for grass cutting, although I do have a plow...  Undecided
Mine has a HUGE turn radius  in one direction (right I think), that makes it sometimes difficult to use.
Been through several kevlar belts on that thing too  Roll Eyes

If some of us(I'll pass) want 15 bucks an hour for the kids who flip burgers at McDonalds, 80 bucks an hour sounds about right for manual labor as intensive as shoveling! And you'd be helping out the unemployed!

Just kiddin ya, Ron. Good move on the snowthrower!

Does that lawn tractor actually have the lawn portion to cut grass or just a blade is all?

Our elderly lady age 72 or so pays us 20 bucks per shoveling if over 3-4", but 10 bucks if 1-2" deep is all.  Is her steep driveway is all about 50 feet long by 20' wide, no sidewalk.  She teaches piano lessons daily so has to get done daily as well if it snows.  She went thru 2-3 neighbor kids, etc. doing her driveway and NONE have done a decent enough job to get them back the next year.  We earn that 20 bucks if over 6" of snow though since the plow as most know make it 2 feet deep at end of the driveway taking over 1 hour to do by shoveling it by hand.

If you want it done right, is worth the 20 bucks if a decent snowfall I think?   Beats the 3-5 bucks we got growing up thinking we were rich then.

Our other elderly neighbor pays us, depending on how many times we go over,  to do their driveway as well while they vacation each winter in Arizona from Nov. thru April 1st or so.  Last year we only did it 4 times all winter as well as this winter, but she paid us 70 bucks which is fine with us.    She wanted to give us more, but I don't feel like over 20 bucks per shoveling is worth it taking 1 hour usually tops, if that.

If word gets out I do good work on time,  I might end up opening up a snowplowing/shoveling business, too bad it is ONLY seasonal and NOT reliable income.

I have one of those, 1958 model, canned the old Wisconsin motor, now has a 36 hp 2 cyl omc industrial engine in it. Had to trim the hood to clear the cylinders. It is a beast, I move my 20 ft toy hauler around with it and boat around with it.  Used to have a mowing deck, but turned to rust years ago.

NO offense to anyone that age or older, but for some, it is elderly.  I don't see too many women (that is whom I was referring to) age 70 and over shovel their own driveways.  My mother in law still does age 73, but not many that I know of.  Men might be a different story though.

It came with a mowing deck that is in good shape as well.

Right now I don't have any plans to use the deck.

This is a timely  thread the wife was wanting me to get a side by side with a plow to do our 300' drive. I use my 30" snow throw with out issue, but she said I getting older and I should take it easy.  I don't feel older?  anyway any one have a Honda Pioneer 500  or  700. if so any issues with them. Ps it would be nice for yard work to being my garden tractor crapped the bed years ago. The tractor with out 4 wheel drive did not really cut it plowing on my hilly driveway.

get the 700cc engine since 500cc is adequate at best, will do the job, but with a UTV being heavier, more cc's is better.

Nothing wrong with a Polaris Ranger 900cc either and TONS of GREAT used ones all over the market.  Heck,  I search craigslist near daily and even saw a used one with 2000 miles or so a few years old for ONLY 10 grand and it was a 6 seater HUGE monster able to fit 6 adults in it.  Get one with a roof and 1/2 windshield would be best at least.  I've even seen if wanting to go smaller if you are shorter, buy a polaris Razor 800cc used one for 8 grand or so in very good condition which takes up not much more space than an ATV fully enclosed with heater, etc. inside, very nice, but have to be smaller to fit inside those tiny seats with legs cramped a little.

AS you know already, 4wd is a MUST for adequate traction plowing with snowplow.  You will enjoy a snowplow on a ATV/UTV  as long as your driveway is like yours 300 feet long.  I have one for my 50' driveway and snowplowing sucks with it takes way too much time backing up, etc. in such a short distance I can do it almost as quickly by hand, well almost, unless deep, deep snow.  Longer driveways snowplows works awesome and is actually fun to do.

Thanks cookiedough, was even thinking an older jeep Wrangler. Just don't want to spend to much right now

buy used ATV/UTV  4wd some good ones out there decent priced in the 500cc up to 1000cc range although 1000cc is too much in my book no need for it.  500cc is adequate, but 700-900cc range in 4wd is plenty.  I got my 2008 Can Am 2-up 500cc ATV for 5K only 850 miles on it and my 2008 Can Am 800cc 2-up ATV for 5500 with 2300 miles on it both about 2-3 years ago, about 1/2 of buying new, give or take.

The one thing I dislike about UTV's, although taking up much more space and pricier, is they are, if going ATVing,  somewhat too big to be on some of the trails where I go trail riding since if you come upon another ATV/UTV coming your way,  takes up too much width, plus trying to turn one around on the narrower ATV trails is a pain as well.

Unfortunately not.

I found one exactly like that for the same price about 300 mi from me.

I can't make the trip for 3 weeks.

Offered to send him a deposit via Pay Pal and he won't go for it.

Say's that he's afraid I'll not show up.

Go figure huh?  uglystupid2

I'm the one that has offered to send money up front and somhow he still thinks that he is going to get cheated.

100 miles and 2 hour drive away, good deal, if it runs 1/2 way decent.  300 bucks will not even buy you a 60" mooseplow (pushplow) for an ATV.
